"Douxie!" said a familiar voice while metallic arms wrapped around me.
"What the? Claire?" I said.
"My gosh, you're cold as ice! Did Skrael attack you?" she said.
"We knew it would happen," Toby said.
"No, Skrael didn't attack me!" I said, breaking from her hug. She looked surprised. "I was practicing cyrokinesis and atmokinesis! Skrael would never attack me."
"Oh, wouldn't he?" Archie said. He began running towards me and gave me a hug. That I missed dearly. Hugs from Archie.
"Haven't seen you in a while now have I, Arch?"
"Oh no, you haven't."
"Cat gone crazy," AAARRRGGHH said.
"Yep, AAARRRGGHH's right. After you were gone, Archie had a meltdown," Claire said.
"I did no such thing!"
"Where's Nari?" Krel asked.
"And Phoenix?" Blinky added.
"They're with Bellroc."
Everyone gasped.
"But don't worry, they're fine. They're just having a girl's-day-out."
Everyone stared at me for a while making things awkward. I sighed. "Listen, the three of us, we've all decided. Well, I've decided. I don't want to fight the Arcane Order any more."
KREL POV:
"What?-why?-how?-when?-Why would you?-what did they?-" Jim struggled to put together a sentence. He finally inhaled and spoke. "Why, Douxie, when all of us have gathered for that very purpose?"
"You sounded just like Merlin."
"At least he was making an ounce of sense! The Order did so much to us. They attack Nari, tried to kill Phoenix, they killed Merlin—your teacher—, killed King Arthur—who they then corrupted—, are trying to kill us, and corrupted me."
"Well, technically you corrupted yourself by sacrificing yourself in the end," I said.
"Now, now, Douxie-" Archie said, "Let's be reasonable."
"Jim, you're focusing on all the bad stuff that the Order has done. What about all the good?"
"The Arcane Order? Do good?" Claire asked. "I don't believe it."
"I, quite frankly, concur with Mistress Claire. The Arcane Order, as I read from my grimoire while you were gone, are despicable beings who find us mortals and anything other than them repugnant. Therefore they seek to eradicate every living creature besides themselves."
"That's wrong! You're wrong!"
"My books are never wrong!"
"Brainwash wizard," AAARRRGGHH said.
"I'm not sure they brainwashed him," Toby said. "Douxie seems to know who we are and what he's doing."
Suddenly a dog that looked to be based off of the fire element came charging towards him. Archie shrieked like a cat and climbed on the nearest furniture.
"Hey, little guy," Toby said. "Do you want a nougat nummy?"
"I don't think it's okay to feed dogs chocolate," Aja said.
"One, he's not a normal dog, and two, he can eat anything. I've seen him take a big bite out of the island counter. The bite mark is still there. And be careful, that's Bellroc's."
