Thirty One - Aleksander

I gave Scarlett a warm kiss on her cheek trying to calm her down. "You'll be fine. They'll love you."

"Love me? They already hate me, Alex! You're Dad, your Mom, your sisters. They all hate me. How am I supposed to make them like me?" She questioned, in a panic state.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "My mom doesn't hate you and neither does Zofia and Ilya hates everyone, and I doubt she'll even come today, she always declines family events, so really, you just have my dad to win over."

"Which will be difficult." She sighed.

"Not as difficult as me trying to win over your entire family."

"Shush, Cal likes you and my Dad is forced to like you and my mom would have loved you."

I smiled at that last part. I'm happy Scarlett stopped resenting her mother. "You know that means so much to me, Scarlett." I said, bending down to kiss her lips. "And also just remember, even if they do hate us, they have to deal with it." I shrugged.

Just as I said that, Zofia came running up to me and gave me a big hug. "Hi!" She exclaimed, still hugging me.

"Hello to you too." I smiled.

She pulled away from me and Scarlett was about to wave but she pulled her into a hug. "Hi sister in-law. That's so cool that you're like my second sister. Please don't think of me as an evil sister in-law who wants to drive you and Alex away. I'm so happy he's finally found someone that makes him so happy. I hope we can actually act like sisters and do sister things." She ranted.

Scarlett's grin grew wider as Zofia kept on going on and on about how she was excited to have her as a new addition to the family.

When she finished she finally said, "Speaking of sisters, is Ilya here yet?"

"No, I actually don't think she's coming." I said, slightly disappointed but not surprised since she did say 'don't bother waiting for me to show up.'

Zofia looked more disappointed than me but quickly sucked it up. "It's fine. I have Scarlett here to keep me company." She smiled walking onto the yacht.

"I still can't believe you thought a yacht was the best way to bring us together." Scarlett, muttered.

"It's sexy, deal with it."

Just as I finished saying that my parents and Scarlett's parents and brother's walked towards us. Scarlett's two brothers gave me a look before walking onto the boat not saying a word to me and Calvino smiled at me following them.

My mom instantly gave me a tight hug squeezing me. "How are you Alex?" She asked, squeezing me even tighter.

"Great," I barely managed to get out.

She let go of me when she realized she was choking me.

"What's got you in a good mood?" I asked, curious.

"I'm glad to be spending time with my family in-law," is all she said, before rushing onto the boat.

My father and Scarlett's father gave each other death stares before Scarlett's voice broke them up. "Behave," She said, addressing her father.

"Yeah, you too." I said to mine. "Can't you guys just be happy and pretend all the bad blood between us never existed?"

My father looked at me and rolled his eyes before walking onto the boat.

"I'm only here to make things right with us, Scarlett." Roberto explained.

"And you can start by playing nice with Aleksander's family." She said, giving him a fake smile.
