A day had passed in the Sand Village. Much of it was spent actually restoring the Village to its former glory. While all citizens helped with reconstruction, it primarily fell onto Gaara as he was the only one who could control the sand and therefore fix the village. Sakura wished they were as lucky back when Orochimaru and Danzo attacked the Village.

In a hospital room, Shikamaru watched intently as IV dripped in a slow rhythm and a beep from the heart monitor came in a constant and calm manner. Temari was in the hospital bed with a oxygen mask covering her face and parts of her body wrapped up to cover up the burns. Sakura, with the help of sand personnel did they best they could for her and now only had to wait until she woke up to see any results.

Shikamaru had yet to leave the hospital room. Heavy bags were under his eyes and he felt exhausted but he couldn't find it in himself to go to sleep. He didn't get there in time. He almost allowed her to die while he was running around doing nothing. He knew it was illogical but he couldn't help but blame himself for this.

Shikamaru turned to the door as he heard a click and it swung open. Choji walked through the door and immediately frowned upon seeing him. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.

"I know what you're going to say. I'm not sleepy."

"You look horrible." Choji wasn't usually blunt but he felt that it was needed. "You haven't slept at all, have you?"

"Look at her Choji." His eyes went back to Temari's unmoving form. "How could I?"

Choji sighed and walked to him, stepping between him and Temari and grasped his shoulder. "You want to help her, be ready to fight the enemy when they come back. They didn't accomplish their goal. You won't be able to help if you're looking like this. Get yourself together."

Shikamaru's eyes widened slightly. Choji was right. This wasn't the way he needed go about this. Shikamaru stood up before his best friend. "Thanks, I'll take your advice." He looked back over at Temari. "Just a bit more time, ok?"

Choji nodded and walked out with a small smile on his face. Shikamaru sighed, staying like that for a couple of more minutes before walking out of the room. As soon as he did, he was met with a glare from Tayuya as she leaned on the wall across from the room, arms crossed. She didn't look happy, but when did she ever.

"What is it?" He asked, feeling weird from the look she was giving him.

Tayuya didn't know why she was so damn angry. Her chest was rising and falling rapidly and she tried her damned hardest to not let it show but she was quickly losing that control the more she thought about just how long Shikamaru had been in the room with her. She didn't know why she was so bothered by it. But she felt pissed off just thinking about it.

Suddenly, she snarled and pushed off the wall and pushed Shikamaru against the door. He expected her to try and hit him but she simply turned and stomped away. He stared at her until she moved out of sight, walking around a corner.

"What was that all about?" He muttered to himself.

Sakura was back in the room she shared with her other teammates gripping her fist with her other hand as he feet tapped repeatedly on the floor. Damn Kiba! What he said just couldn't escape her head. It was all she could think about. She tried her damned best not to think about Sasuke all these years. Now not only had Kiba brought up that comment, she had heard that Sasuke had arrived with a team to compete in the Chunin Exams. Gaara had made the decision the night before that he would continue on with the scheduled Exams despite the risk instead of sending all the Shinobi from multiple parts of the world home. But truthfully, she regretted he made that decision.
