"Y/n. You know you're not supposed to be out here," Ludociel scolded you as soon as he was in earshot.

"I needed space to think. The camp was too noisy," you replied, hoping they couldn't sense the demon not too far from where you three were hovering.

"And whatever did you think about, angel?" Mael's smooth voice sent unpleasant shivers down your spine. He always had shown interest in you, and though you could never admit it, his interest made your skin crawl.

"This world. It's actually quite beautiful. Some places are so green, it's breathtaking." It came out faster than you could stop and think about it. Green. The demon's eyes were green before he had called upon his magic power.

"Really? It seems so dull compared to home," Mael mused. He started looking around, possibly searching for the green you spoke of.

"Well," your mind raced, trying to think of something to explain it. "Think of it from a human perspective. As if you were seeing it for the first time, without having any knowledge of our realm."

"I suppose, when you put it that way." Mael seemed a little more interested now.

"Why bring yourself to human standards? We Archangels surpass the humans by a large sum." Ludociel stated, he had always seen your clan as higher than any of the others, even the Faeries and Giants, who also had great amounts of magic power and battle experience. Humans were the bottom of the food chain, only having a select few that were notable with great strength.

"There is no beauty in life if we believe that we are better than everything and everyone else." You responded, remembering the words of a Fairy friend.

"We are better," Ludociel argued, clearly not giving the subject up. "That's just the facts."

You shook your head. "Let's just get back."

"Y/n! Oh, thank goodness you're alright! No one could find you, and we were all getting very worried, you see." The voice of your fairy friend, Ilayda, greeted you once the three of you were back to the Fairy King's Forest.

"Oh, I'm ok, Ilayda, really, you shouldn't fuss over me too much." You reassured her, giving a warm smile.

"Oh, nonsense, N/n, you're a dear friend of mine, if you go missing, I get worried," Ilayda placed her hand on your shoulder, a closed smile painted on her lips.

"Yes, Y/n, you mustn't go missing, you are needed for the success for our clan," Ludociel commented, his words making you pause. You had never been necessary before, only a healer, which your camp had plenty of those.

"I am?" The words were cautious.

"Of course you are. We are finalizing our plan to end this war, and bring the demons to their knees."

That small part of you couldn't help but to worry about the blonde haired demon you had met earlier. And now, you were mentally facepalming for healing him. You didn't regret your actions, but you wished the situation was different.

"So, N/n, are you coming to the festival tonight?" Ilayda inquired, her wings slightly fluttering with excitement. Festival? You didn't remember anyone mentioning festival. And apparently, it was written across your face as Ilayda face palmed and apologized. "I'm sorry, it was just announced tonight. The Archangels have a plan to end the war and they are announcing the plan tonight. So, we are having a festival to celebrate."

"A festival is unnecessary but the fairies insisted," Mael explained.

"I guess I'll be there, I have nothing else to do." You shrugged your shoulders. Ilayda happily exclaimed, bringing a smile to your face. Ilayda was your closest friend, you had met her when you first came to this world. She was an odd fairy, didn't always fit in with the others, but she was the youngest sibling of Fairy King Gloxinia and Gerheade, which made you wonder if that's why people acted to listen to her. You knew, if they actually tried, they'd see she was a pretty good fairy, inside and out.

"That's great! Come on, we have to get ready." Ilayda grabbed your hand, pulling you away from the two Archangels, who were watching in amusement. You raised your hand in a half wave, turning and following Ilayda through the forest. She led you to the side of the camp where the women resided, leading you to your tent. Entering, you saw an outfit had been laid out for you. It was similar to your normal attire, white with a low cut back, but it had a deep v-cut front, held together with two thin strips of fabric. It was a lacy material, and connected to a loose, square cut skirt. It was paired with short white shorts and a pair of white flats that laced up your leg.

"Did you pick this out?" You turned to Ilayda, and seeing the pride gleam in her eye, you knew you were correct.

"I did. I hope you like it. I know you prefer the low cut backs, and for tonight, I figured why not show off our feminine bodies for the males," she laughed, starting to change into her own outfit. Ilayda had chosen a green dress, also low cut to accommodate her own wings, hers looking similar to her brother's with a more monarch butterfly design, but with out the swirling rainbow of colors. The green reminded you of a certain demon's eyes, making you blink and shake thoughts of him from your mind.

You changed as well, your wings disappearing as you pulled your current clothes over your head. As you did, you caught a scent that lingered on your clothes, something foreign, but the scent making your head spin. It was the scent of that demon. It must have transferred to your clothes when you were leaning towards him during the healing process. It smelt like ash and a forest, with something dark yet welcoming. You had to admit you didn't mind the way it smelt.

You pushed those thoughts to the back of your mind as you pulled the new dress over your head. Ilayda helped you with your hair, leaving most of it down, the tips just brushing your shoulders, but using some to twist into interlocking braids. A flower crown made up of Baby's Breath, Forget-me-not's, and Foxglove was delicately placed around your hair, the blues, purples, and whites mixing well together. You helped Ilayda with her own hair, twisting her finger locks into some curls and braiding a few strands here and there, completing her look with a crown of Baby's Breath.

"Honestly, Y/n, I do not understand how you don't have a lover yet. You're gorgeous," Ilayda admitted. She was never quiet with her complements of you.

"Same to you, Ilayda. Goodness, I wish I had your hair." You complemented her right back, meaning every word.

"I mean, with you, I've heard Mael has taken some interest to you." The fairy nudged your shoulder, and you fought back the disgust that threatened to show. You would never say it out loud, but you were strongly uncomfortable when it came to Mael and his feelings toward you.

"Really? I... I hadn't noticed," you feigned your curiosity, hoping Ilayda wouldn't suspect anything. Just in case, you stopped a dagger to your waist, the small pouch filled with different poisons and antidotes. You never knew what could happen, even this deep into the Fairy King's Forest.

"Either way, I'd say we're just about finished getting ready. And the Festival is about to begin!" Ilayda once again grabbed your hand, pulling you out of the room and out to the awaiting festivities.
