It was later on in the day and it was time for you to head to work. You had tossed your shoes on before slinging you duffel bag on. You walked out of your room and down the halls thinking of earlier. It was nice to actually talk to chuuya without him being a hot headed asshole. But once you two got back to headquarters, you went separate ways.
Until now that was. As you walked the halls you saw the one and only chuuya. He was heading towards moris office when he stopped and seen you.
"Uh hey" you said as you stopped a few feat from where he stood.
"Hi"
"You can go in first if you'd like"
"It's your dad"
"You were here first"
"Just go"
"Alright fine. I was trying to be nice" you said as you walked up to the double doors and pushed them open. Chuuya walked in behind you and followed you up to the desk where Mori sat.
"Hello sweetheart. Off to work?"
"Yeah, is the driver outside?"
"Of course" he smiled. "Can I help you chuuya?"
"I was going to ask why you cancelled the mission the black lizard and I were on"
"Things happen is all. I'll update you and hirotsu later on once I find out what's going on"
"You telling me your working with someone boss?"
"I am" he said as he clasped his hands together infront of him.
"Dad....who are you talking to?"
"The armed detective agency"
"What?" Chuuya spoke up once again.
"I said I'll inform everyone later on once things are confirmed. Now, y/n, head to work so you're not late please. And chuuya.....why don't you give y/n a ride instead hm?"
"No it's alright, the driver is downstairs and-"
"Yea sure" chuuya said before even thinking. It shocked you a little as your mouth hung open while looking at him. "I'm doing it as a favour for the boss of course" he said looking back at you. Mori just smiled and watched as you two left.
"What are you planning Mori?" Kouyou said as she stepped over to the man. She had been in the back corner of the room, analyzing the book shelf. She was helping Mori decide things with the agency as well, but now she was more focused on you and chuuya.
"Nothing special, but those two should get closer" Mori smiled. "My child needs friends after all"
Walking a little behind chuuya, he led you to his lovely motorcycle and you felt yourself get a little excited.
"Chuuya, are you serious?"
"Well, I don't have a car you see"
"Real funny"
"Don't tell me you're scared?"
"Am not. I'm not scared of anything"
"Alright, have a seat then" he said as he sat on the bike and patted the seat behind him.
"What about my bag? And helmets?"
"I control gravity. Don't worry about it, just sit down before I get annoyed with you"
"Fine" you said as you sat on the bike and chuuya activated his ability letting a red glow flow over you both and the bike. You hesitantly wrapped your arms around him for safety measures. You just hoped he would lash at you for touching him since he seemed like the type to do so.
You both rode down the streets as the wind blew through your hair, letting it go wild. It would definitely need a brushing before your shift started.
But the ride didn't last too long, not with chuuyas driving. He had parked around the back and you got up off the bike.
"Thanks"
"Yea whatever. I did it for the boss" he said emotionlessly. He was back to being his usual self it seemed like; a grouch.
You decided to not respond, but instead walk away and go to the back door to enter inside. You made your way through the halls and into the changing rooms wear you got into your bunny costume and brushed through your hair.
Meanwhile chuuya sped off not giving a care in the world. He didn't know why he went soft on you earlier, it must have just been a moment thing since you had gone soft on him while talking about Dazai. Chuuya wasn't a soft or mushy kind of person so he thought it was a fluke he did that and told himself it would never happen again. He didn't like you, in fact he despised you. A lot.
Thinking back, seeing how you got along perfectly with Dazai made sense on why he'd despise you. You both would insult and talk back to him. You and Dazai were two peas in a pod. That would come more to light soon enough and he'd see just exactly why Dazai loved you so much.
Chuuya didn't know how bad you could exactly be. He thought you were bad enough with your attitude towards him. But no. It could get worse and seeing as how he would be treating you, a battle would be created- no, a war would be.
He was being honest on what he said, he didn't drive you out of the caringness of his heart, he did it because the boss inquired it. If he had said no, surely something would happen. Mori may have said it as a question, but it was only a question you could say yes to. A no would result in a punishment from Mori himself, especially if it was a favour for his precious daughter.
Meanwhile you knew he meant what he said. You weren't stupid and you had gathered that just a few hours ago was nothing but a conversation about Dazai. The difference in tones and voices must've meant nothing considering he went right back to how he usually was. He couldn't even say 'you're welcome' or even nod. It was just a 'whatever'. Just from that you gathered that a good conversation probably wasn't going to happen again. It's not like you cared anyhow, what difference would one good conversation make? None.
The only reason you did talk was because it was about osamu Dazai, a man you both had known and had stories to tell. If it was any other conversation, it probably would have been a difference story.
But you decided not to think too much on it since you did have to work after all. Having him on your mind wasn't going to get the job done, it'd just make you question the audacity of him and how he acts.
Walking on to the floor, you scanned the room and noticed it was less busier than usual. How odd. You headed over to Derek and he handed you your tray as usual.
"Hey Derek"
"Heyo y/n"
"It's less busy today....what's with that?"
"Hm...I'm not sure. Anything going on with Mori?"
"Actually, yeah. Apparently he's talking with someone about something. He hasn't even told me yet which is odd"
"You think other gangs and mafias got word?"
"I'd hope not. If it is something to do with another group that most mafias don't like, it'd put us almost out of business. Dad would be pissed"
"Yea no kidding. Mention it to him tonight"
"Yeah, I may have to. Hopefully tonight is just a fluke"
"Yes hopefully"
"Well, see ya around Derek"
"Cya bunny"
You began to wander around the building as your heels clacked against the marble floors, gaining the notice of others around. Peoples eyes were glued to machines as usual or some random game of black Jack perhaps. But nobody could resist looking at a worker here, how could they? It was a little disgusting in a way, but it made the money so nobody could complain much.
