Alyiah, my mom shouted upstairs. Get up the movers are here already. I rustled in my bed and rubbed my eyes. I rolled over and squinted at my clock that read 9am. Crap.... I whispered to myself today was going to be a long day we were moving and I don't mean down the street or across town we were moving to another country or as my parents call it moving abroad. I rolled out of bed and stumbled to my bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I wasn't ugly, but I just saw myself as average. My complexion was clear thank goodness and I had long brown locks which hung just below my waistline,. My eyes were a bright blue my mom always called them little sapphires. My figure was curvy and I was of average weight. I wasn't fat, but not on the slim side either. I finished dressing in the clothes I laid out last night then pulled my long hair up into a messy bun. I grabbed my suitcase and took one last look at my room then headed downstairs. I heard my mothers' voice in the kitchen talking to the movers about a few last minute details about the move. "Good Morning, Mom" I say. She waved her hand and motioned me to eat so we could leave. I ate the french toast she made me and then we were off.

We arrived at the airport just in time to hear our flight being called to start boarding. My mom looked at me and said run for it we need to hurry. We barely made it though security and down the jet bridge as we see the flight attendant closing the door and we yell WAIT! WAIT! She opens the door back up and lets us board after looking at our boarding passes. We squeeze past her and choose seats near the back of the airplane. "It was close but we made it," I say. My mom takes ahold of my hand and says yes we did. A few moments later the plane is being taxied out to the runway and before long we are in the air. I decide to take a nap as this is around a 15 hour flight. I dream about seeing my father, I haven't seen him in almost two months. My Aunt Agatha called my father that his father was very ill and the outcome didn't look good. My father immediately left for The United States and just last week informed us that my grandfather passed away. My mother and I are moving to The United States to be with our extended family.

My mother's name is Allison. She is a historian and just left her position as a history professor at The Marabella International University Centre in Spain. My father is a researcher for a government science facility so he was home most of the time, however spent most of his time in his office. I minded, but didn't mind considering the work he did he said was essential and said someday I would understand. Funny thing is though, I didn't realize just what that meant until we landed in Wyoming.
