Blood and tears lay on the restroom floor. They turn their backs and walk away. He gets up, short of breath.

He looks into the mirror and whispers to himself, 'Why... Why me?"

Once he is able to recollect his emotions, he washes the blood and tears on his face. He walks out and continues his day at school. School was rough for the poor boy. It's only been a month of his first year of high school and he is already a victim of bullying. He doesn't reach out to anyone because he has no one. His parents are even clueless about what's going on.

"Rainey welcome home!" his mom excitedly said.

Rainey throws on a fake smile and says, "Hey Mom"

As mothers usually do, she asked, "How was your day?"

Before Rainey could reply, she grabbed his face. As she turns his head her eyes open in shock.

"What the hell happened to your lip?!" she yells.

Rainey points at his lip and says, "Oh this? I got hit in the face with a basketball at P.E. today."

His mom is still a bit skeptical and gives him a funny look.

"I'm serious mom," Rainey vexingly said.

"Okay just making sure I didn't have to whoop some kid's ass," his mom inputs.

Rainey simply cannot tell his mom the truth. The shame he thinks he will get is just unbearable. Being seen as less than a human being by others is fine but he doesn't want to be seen that way by his own mother.

"I'm home love!" someone said as they walk through the front door.

"You made it right on time for dinner," Mom said.

"Oh yeah, I'm starving!" He exclaimed.

He walks over to the dinner table and pulls out a seat. Right before he goes to sit down he notices Rainey's lip.

He then asks, "The hell happened to you?"

Before Rainey can respond Rachel (Rainey's mom) says, "He couldn't catch a basketball in P.E."

Rachel and Rayy (Rainey's dad) bust out laughing. Of course, Rainey plays along and laughs with them. After the laughter calms down Rachel gets the plates and serves everyone food.

"Alright everyone let's eat!" Rayy shouted.

The family starts to dig right into their food. They crack jokes, talk, and laugh the whole dinner. Rainey's parents are very loving to him. Even though Rainey knows this, he is just too afraid to express what he is dealing with at school.

Dinner is over and Rainey has clean-up duty. It's a fairly easy job since they're a family of three. As Rainey is cleaning his teeth start to grind. He doesn't notice it all. He starts to feel this ocean of irritation. Everything is starting to get on his nerves. Washing the dishes start to irritate him. He can't comprehend why he is so annoyed. He rushes and gets the kitchen clean and hurries to his room. He lays down in his bed and instantly feels a sense of security. His bed is as soft as a pillion and cool like the sky air. This instantly gets rid of his irritation and stops his teeth from grinding. He puts on some soft piano music and passes out.

While he is sleeping his parents are talking in the other room.

"Something feels off Rayy," Rachel said

"Would you happen to be talking about Rainey? If so I feel the same," he responded.

"I have this feeling that he is hiding something from us," Rachel explained.

"He might be doing drugs or having sex," Rayy sarcastically says.

"Babe quit being silly. It has something to do with that busted lip of his!" She yelled.

Rayy whispers, "Rachel calm down he might hear us talking."

"He listens to music when he goes to bed he won't be hearing us." She tells him.

Rayy relieved says, "Oh right"

"Gosh babe your not the brightest are you?" Rachel said in a mocking tone.

Rayy wraps his arms around her and says, "Shut up and cuddle with me."

The two hold each other and enjoy their sleep.
