The Truth in a Perfect Household

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." George Santayana

"Alright, class. You will be given the rest of the week to write a paper and answer the question:

"What is America, the Home of the Brave and Land of the Brave, to you?....."

"A house divided against itself c-c-ca-cannot stt-stand." Lincoln's quote was the spitting image of

what Washington's farewell address was trying to convey. He warned against many important

things, but especially against dividing yourself among the nation. The division makes the crack

in the foundation even bigger. Because of the division, there's a lot of tension between 2 sides

and when there's tension, there's always going to be fighting.

Even today, Washington's presidency was centuries ago, he warned about the political parties,

did we listen? No, there are still the Republicans and Democrats, fighting over Roe V Wade.

Telling a woman what to do with her body. There's always something, but with that, was there

any problem that has been solved because of it? Lincoln's approach to the Emancipation

Proclamation was convincing, sure, but was it really? It was able to appease mediocrity for a

small bit of time, but c'mon, who are we kidding.

There's a fine line between bravery and idiocy and Lincoln's decisions during the Civil War were

flirting with it. Even today, in certain places, Black people are treated differently in most states

than in others, but ah yes, this is America, states' rights, right...? The slaves in the plantations in

the South have gone through hell and back, and I think they need to know that their deaths

weren't in vain, don't you? My people were robbed of everything, slowly being dehumanized to

the point where they realized death was better than bondage. We were eaten, their skin was

used for leather, and we were robbed of their education, their names, and identities.

This, in my belief, was the influence of the Jewish Holocaust. Today, black people are still

struggling with oppression around the world still, it's unfair, but this is America, right? The 13th

-15th Amendments were purely designed to boost Black people. But like always, there are

people who still don't listen. Like Hiram Rhodes Revels, we have our own black woman who has

been serving in the Supreme Court for a year. I know that the system is rooted against us,

rooted in white privilege.

So in my opinion, America, the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, is a very scary place. I'm scared and quite often I don't feel safe here. But it's always going to be us with the underhand. We'll always be the underdogs, but never you. That's not fair... This is America..."

"Hey, wake up! You fell asleep, silly!"

"Oh sorry about that love. "

"No worries! Do you know what you're doing for the project? "

"Yeah, I do. I have something right now."

"Really? Cool! Let me see!"

"It's not finished yet and it's not filtered."

"It's history, it's not like I'll be offended by anything, I'll be fine."

"Okay, if you're positive, here's the start of it. This is America.."
