Nana didn't expect for her dating news to be such a big issue. She was a normal twenty year old who was dating a boy who shared the same interests. However, her company was very cautious in confirming her relationship to the public. That probably was the first sign to not be happy that her relationship was now made public. They could have denied it honestly. In fact, they almost did since they feared how it would affect her. The second sign was when fans started going to her Instagram page and asking why she was dating her boyfriend. The comments were filled with another person's name instead of congratulatory comments from fans.
Nana had initially thought that fans wouldn't have a problem with her dating. She had seen the hashtag they had trended earlier in the year. It turned out that fact was true but it mattered who she was dating. Majority of her fans didn't care who she was dating as long as she was happy but somehow Nana could only spotted the hate comments. Telling her that she chose the wrong guy or that she was such a slut throwing herself at any boy who looked at her.
She honestly didn't know why dating him was so bad.
After everything she had been through he listened, consoled, and made her feel loved. That was something she needed at that time, so she naturally started gravitating towards him. Slowly they had gotten to know each other after filming. Nana didn't know why she hadn't given him her personal contact information before. The months they got to know each other afterwards felt like years and they couldn't help but decided to mutually start seeing each other. Her best friends would asked why she had chosen him instead since they knew her past. It was quite simple actually.
Jaemin made her feel safe.
He made her feel like everything bad would pass and she could be happy how then on. There was no denying that he loved her first, but she couldn't imagine how she would have lived through the last months of 2021. He had become just a big pillar for support for her. Even her own family saw how much happier she was when she talked about him.
But, now they were both the targets of people who didn't approve.
Their relationship was no longer between the two of them. Now, it belonged to thousands. She couldn't even look through the comments left by fans because of how hurtful most of them were. She wouldn't have cared if it had been solely about her but they talked about her lover and one of her good friends. She could help but feel helpless at how they would rush to his posts and degrade him and denounce their relationship. That had been his worry from the very start. He had know that there was a popular ship that everyone approved of; even her company did. However that ship had sailed and sunk after time passed.
She just simply wanted to find her happiness after so many years.
