Nana pulled some strings to debut under BigHit Entertainment.
This scandal was a result of BigHit's rule of no female trainees. Nana's introduction film was under BigHit Labels but there was no Source Music logo inseatd she had the BigHit logo. Many fans who didn't wish for a female to debut under BigHit as they might be close to BTS and TXT. However, it was revealed that Nana had been initially a BigHit trainee and secretly continued to train but instead did it under the name of Source Music. It was revealed that her debut under BigHit was set since 2017 but got pushed back due to her young age; for her to debut as a soloist.

Nana not actually being an only child and having a half sister.
After Nana won big awards at the end of the year awards, her family history was revealed. Someone on Pann, claimed to be Nana's little sister and that Nana didn't want to acknowledge her existence. AMI freaked out since Nana always stated that she was an only child. This quickly spread and BigHit released a statement on her behalf.
"Our artist Nana is indeed an only child. Her parents divorced when she was merely six months old and she has never had contact with her mother's side or her mother since then. She did not know her mother remarried nor the fact that she had half siblings. She has been raised by her father until his passing, As of now, her current legal and only guardian is her paternal uncle."
Fans soon gathered information and past clips, where Nana is seen only mentioning her father, uncle, and paternal grandparents and her childhood pictures only included her paternal side.
Her younger half sibling was revealed to be a trainee at a small entertainment company and to be the same age as Nana. Nana was born in January while her parents divorced in July. Her half sister was revealed to be born in December.
