This picks up immediately after the previous chapter. Prepare for mean author time /hj.

Also! To clear something up, Harper is RQ Green Leader, expect he's now Green Rebel Leader. I will be switching from calling him by his name, Harper, to his title, Green (Rebel) Leader.

Prepare for a mean beginning.

~ Sabre's PoV ~

"... Something I don't want to talk about."

The trio behind the glass give me unsatisfied looks. Blane's gaze has more worry and understanding in it than Harper's or Neroli's.

"Sabre, you do understand your position here and the situation at hand, correct?" Green Leader questions me.

"Yes, I do," I answer.

"Then you'll understand why we need this information. We need it to make sure you are trustworthy. That you won't betray us for King Void," he further explains. "We do this background check to everyone, even me. You have to understand why we're so precautious here."

I nod. "I understand, but I don't want to share my past. I hate remembering it myself."

"Sabre, please, you have to understand-"

"No, you have to understand." The Green Leader speaks, but Aeson cuts him off. "If Sabre doesn't want to talk about his past, then he doesn't have to. End. Of. Story."

When Aeson spoke, his voice was laced with venom. My heart skipped a beat at him protecting me, or at least acknowledging my appearance here.

"Mr Aeson, please stay out of this," Harper speaks again, but is cut off again.

"No. Sabre is like a little brother to me and I will not have you push him to tell you something he doesn't want to. He's explained he doesn't like talking about, or remembering his past, and that should be enough for you."

All eyes, including mine, are on Aeson.  I never knew he saw me that way, nor did I think he'd defend me here. To Origin, I thought he hated or despised me, not look at me like I'm his little brother.

Complete silence fills the room. So silent to where you could hear a pin drop. I stare at Aeson, while Harper and Neroli glance at each other. Blane, on the other hand, stares at me.  Aeson holds his death glare at Harper and Neroli.

The silence is broken by Neroli's shaky words. "Very w-well. No f-further questions will be a-asked about S-S-Sabres past."

Aeson glances at me and nods, and I sigh and nod back. I owe him one for this. That is a dept I will somehow repay.

Harper gives me a look of unpleasantness, but leaves the topic alone.

"Very well. Now, next question. What is your relation to King Void? We've done a tad bit of... research, and we've discovered that you live in the perimeter that only the Kings closest advisers or supporters live in. And, well considering everything so far, you don't support King Void..." The Green Leader trails off at the end, giving me a glare. He already doesn't like me, I can tell.

"Well, uh, that uh, ties into my past," my voice is almost a whisper when I finish speaking.

"Sabre, you can't use that excuse to avoid questions you don't like," Harper says sternly. "Answer the question."

"No."

"Sabre-"

"No."

"Sabre, I swear to origins chroma if you try to avoid another question again-"

"FINE! Fine. Some stuff that I don't feel comfortable sharing at the moment happened and King Void decided he wanted to keep an eye on me, so he put my house there."

Harper glares at me with a look of disappointment, as if he expected more of an answer from me. He probably did, but I don't care. I don't even want to be here.

"Sabre. You... I can tell you're smart, there's no doubting that. But, you're scared. And when smart people are scared, they do dumb things. So how about we get you settled in your quarters, and we can continue this conversation later. How does that sound?" Harper offers.

I stare at him, unsure if I should take his offer. One thing I know for sure though is that if I go back home, Void will have Darkness Guards waiting for  me there. Void would want me questioned, or worse, and nothing would stop him.

"Fine. That sounds a bit better," I say when I ultimately decide that staying here, for now, is better than being left in Voids clutches.

"Aeson, you're to come as well," Harper orders. Aeson, though reluctantly, nods.

Harper opens the door and let's Aeson and I out of the interrogation room. Aeson stays to my left, while Blane rushes to my right. Neroli stays silent beside Harper as they lead us out and through the base.

"Now, it has come to my attention that Blane requested for you, Sabre, to stay with him. Now, typically Blane would be at the Orange District's base, but currently there is no safe way in or out of there. So, for the time being, you three will be staying with one of our men until further notice. Also, Aeson, I believe you would wish to stay with Sabre in the future?" The Green Rebel Leader explains as he leads us through the intricately layed out hallways. Those who we pass give him nods of respect.

"Yes, sir, though I would prefer not being involved here at all," Aeson responds in a steady tone.

"Hm, we can try to arrange that, though it will be difficult. But, a little bit of information as to who you're temporarily staying with. They are not from this base, though do frequent trades and information runs here. They currently have no safe way back to their base, as the Yellow District is also under heavy guard, so they're staying here until this all clears up a bit," Harper says.

Neroli stays silent through the whole walk, though some of the rebels say, 'hello Shy' when he passes them. He just gives a small curt nod in response.

After a while, we make it to the living quarters, which the hallway and space leading to them is giant. Doors line the left and right walls, while the roof is high enough to where there are small platforms that extend throughout the whole hallway that have even more doors to more living quarters.

"Follow me, this is where you risk getting lost or forgetting which room you're staying in," the Green Rebel Leader commands, and we follow.

He leads us down the hallway for about ten minutes before he stops at a door on the right hand side. 128-1F.

"This is where you'll be staying. Room 128 on floor 1. I hope you enjoy your stay until we can figure things out more," Harper says as he hands each of us a key to the room. "Oh, and Blane, your belonging that were here previously have been moved to here."

Blane nods, and unlocks the door and Harper walks away with Neroli, who I forgot was standing with us. (totally didn't forget him when writing this part /hj /lh)

When we walk in, we're greeted with a living area that consists of a grey couch facing the wall that had a table and a television hooked up on the wall. Behind it has a kitchen-like room with a dining table in the center. On the left and right walls, there are two doors on each, which I presume lead to the four bedrooms and a possibly shared bathroom.

We're started when the far right bedroom door opens to reveal our roommate. His hair, which is unruly and long, is golden blonde, and his eyes are sunshine yellow. He wears no shirt, his four pack being in display, along with his other honed muscles. His pants are a golden brown colour and are long to where the almost fully cover his black running shoes.

"Hi."

~~~
Not as mean as a cliffhanger as last chapter, but I lost motivation to write right at the end, plus I'm tired.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I'll see you all in the next one.
