the bell rung, signalling the end of lunch and anabelle asked which class i had next.
"music, you?"
"me, too. mind if i accompany you on the way?"
"sure." i said and we got up. anabelle took up her tray and emptied the trash and waved to her friends.
we head on our way to the music class. i was excited. i love music. it's a way that i use to put out what i was feeling using keys.
anabelle and i entered the music classroom and she closed the door after we got in.
"miss belle, miss lindsay! come here," our jolly teacher, miss peregrine, said and i walked to her.
i could feel anabelle's eyes on me as i walked to the teacher.
"yes, miss peregrine?"
"can you play something on the piano for me meanwhile, miss lindsay joins in with the violin?"
"sure." anabelle and i said in sync and we went to the assigned instruments and i turned on the piano and looked down at the keys.
i looked at anabelle.
"you start off and i'll follow suite." she said and i hummed.
i placed my finger on a black key and then a white key. my fingers flowed across the keys smoothly, playing a soft tune. i heard the soft sound coming from the violin and i looked up at anabelle who was looking down at the violin as she used the violin bow to strum the cords of the instrument.
i smiled at how amazing it sounded and i accidentally pressed a sharp key, going off key and i winced. anabelle looked up at me and i gave her a sorry look and started going back on key.
"robin, guitar!" miss peregrine said and robin rushed to the guitar.
"jason, drums."
"lucy, saxophone."
"karson, flute."
what? all these instruments together?
"percy, violin."
everyone moved to the instruments that they were told to play and they formed in beautifully. luckily, each music class has an entire 5 blocks all to itself so we weren't disturbing the other classes.
miss peregrine looked at us with pride and proudness as she clasped her hands together.
if im not good at anything, im good at music - playing the piano that is.
-
"you're good with the piano," anabelle compliments.
"thank you." i said, "you, too, with the violin."
she smiled. that's something she does often, smile.
"how comes we've never have any music classes together?" i asked.
"because i have two music teachers who's classes i attend two weeks between. miss peregrine i have for two weeks, this week and next, and mr. jackson the following week." i nodded im understanding.
"cool." i muttered.
it was still weird with someone talking to me and they're not insulting me.
"watch it, you fat pig." someone spat as they bounced into my shoulder.
jinxed it.
i didn't say anything but anabelle stopped and turned to the guy who just passed us.
"excuse me?" she scoffed, grabbing the guy's attention. he stopped and turned to look at us.
"i wasn't talking to you." he said.
"i don't care. have respect," she moved towards him and punched him making me gasp.
the guy stumbled back and anabelle scowled at the sophomore.
"i-im sorry."
"sorry doesn't cut it, bitch." she stepped closer to him and cracked her neck making me shiver, "now im daring you to repeat what you just said to her."
the guy looked scared as anabelle moved towards him.
"i-i wasn't talking her. i-i was j-just mum-mumbling."
something chipped and she just started punching him.
"anabelle, god, no." i moved towards her to stop her but ended up getting elbowed in the nose. i groaned and placed my hand on my nose as blood trickled down my nostril.
fuck.
i stopped punching the guy immediately at the sound of her groan and turned to look at her. i rushed to her aid, seeing that her nose ass bleeding.
shit, shit, shit. this is bad.
the direction to the nearest bathroom came in mind and we moved towards it, forgetting about the bleeding guy on the ground.
don't worry about him. i'll pay him a little visit later.
we entered the stall and i closed the bathroom door with the lock and walked her to the sink. i dipped my hand under the running water and dabbed the blood that trickled from her nose.
"im sorry," i whispered.
delilah didn't say anything, wincing ever so slightly when i touched her nose.
"i really mean it, delilah."
"it's okay." she said, "i stepped in the way so i deserved it."
"no you didn't. you don't deserve a possible broken nose."
delilah shrugged and looked in my eyes. my eyes flickered down to her lips for a quick moment and i couldn't help but think of how pink and kissable they look right now.
my tongue darted out to wet my lips and delilah spoke up.
"do you want to kiss me, anabelle?"
