301.
The next few weeks following the win had been a whirlwind for the couple. They were busy celebrating with their friends and themselves.
After working tirelessly on the performance for weeks, Jimin and Jungkook were finally able to stretch their limbs. They spend an entire day just lazing around and watching TV.
When you become an adult with responsibilities, there was a lot one had to sacrifice for the sake of work and having to pay the bills. Winding down and chilling for a day was not always possible.
But when you were a celebrity, things get even worse because you couldn't just take a walk outside to release some of that stress. You can't just hit a street food shop to munch on those delicious greasy food or get shit faced without the media making a great deal out of it.
One would bat their eyes if a non-famous citizen were to do these things. However, when it came to celebrities, everything they did were microanalyzed. Every move was scrutinized under a microscope.
Poor Jungkook's scandals started that way. One night, he took his car to go out for a drive because he couldn't sleep. The next morning, somewhere in Gangnam gu, a man was scene exiting a popular residential complex where actress Shi lived.
From there, it was like dominos. One after the other, the scandals began to chase the idol. Soon his name was dragged into anything and everything.
Someone sneezed somewhere in Seoul, immediately someone connected it to Jungkook.
The tides have turned. Things have changed since they came out as a couple. However, Jimin knew they can't always shut the media and people talking.
They would have to ignore the negativity and keep pushing forward. If Jimin had a choice, he would have loved to take a stroll through the busy streets of Seoul. Maybe eat icecream by the banks of Han River.
But those were activities that turned to be a luxury they can't afford anymore. Jimin knew this would happen, but he accepted it happily. After all, he vowed to share the good and the bad with his husband. It only felt right to share everything.
Jungkook was happy these days. He smiled a lot and slept well. He even began working on his next album, humming a melody absent mindedly as he got through the day.
It was endearing to watch him getting into his thing. Jimin was finally at peace. Today, they decided to spend time with each other. Jungkook's schedule would start soon and they wanted to make use of the time as much as they could.
Jimin was cooking dinner when the door bell rang. He frowned. They weren't expecting anyone today. Their friends were either out of town or busy with a schedule. Besides, they wouldn't show up without informing first.
He heard Jungkook opening the door and whispers filtrating into their living room. He shut the stove, letting the stew simmer down before heading outside.
He frowned when he noticed Jungkook's manager with another male he didn't recognize. His face seemed vaguely familiar but he couldn't recall from where.
30 minutes later...
"Mr. Jang, I've already made my decision clear," Jimin said with a sigh. "I know HitMusic is ready to offer me consideration, but I don't want to do it alone." He clasped his hands in front of him. "I can't do it alone."
"You won't be alone," Jungkook said. "You'll have me by your side."
Jimin smiled. "I know what it means to debut as a soloist, Jungkook. I'm not willing to give the time it takes to chase a career that comes second to everything. I have everything I need in my life right now. I'm content."
