Centuries Before She Named Herself

My first girlfriend Clare, she'd always said we'd be together forever, at first it was something cheesy and I would agree feeling butterflies in my stomach. I'd never thought she was serious until she surprisingly bite me on my eighteenth birthday. Charlie her Father didn't take it lightly turning people just because out of pleasure, like the Red Vampire Covenant did, this is why they'd escaped. I remembered it clearly him snapping her neck. His face emotionless but his cheeks where all wet from his tears. Copper's red hair matched Clare's blood coming out of her mouth. Copper is Charlie's Wife, Not real wife just an act in public's eyes. I'd remember her just standing there only frowning slightly. Clare wasn't there real daughter but they treated her like one up to this point. I'd remember him say that a life taken without needing to be saved is a crime. I'd ran away, they let me knowing I would be back because I couldn't control my thirst and they'd only be the ones to help. Ever since then I've lived with Charlie, Copper and Mabel.  Mabel is much younger then me by centuries but she is more stronger and has powers Chris or I could never be able to consume. Copper has powers such as Healing and Mental Sedation. Not that she can put other's to sleep in an instant but relaxes them that if they are feeling a muscle pain it'll be bearable or that they can fall asleep willingly.

I will tell you the reason to why that is but first lets start with her before she named herself,

In 1627, she wears a stunning champagne dress with patterns of black leaves prints and some would say that the flares worn around her neck would make them itch and the flares on her wrist had made her seem petite. No one would admit that out loud though. She held her chin up high even if her curls where plumped and off her face. Her manner was polite and sweet. Anyone could mistake her for a weak and innocent woman. She was neither of them. I wasn't myself and that's why we where so perfect for each other. Behind the currents we'd French kiss while turning the corner she'd fix her smudge lipstick. I'd follow her into the woods and we'd tear each other's layers off until we both climaxed. Our sex drive was off the charts. We vampires didn't love when is come to sex, it was just for the purely enjoyment and pleasure. Of course this was only in secret as she was engaged to be married. A man I couldn't recall his name. He'd died a few years after she'd married him. He knew she was a vampire at least she told me so, we Vampires can manipulate humans very easily. Keep them as live blood banks and when we get bored well, I don't think I have to spell it out for you.

Her pointy cheeks touched mine as we lay naked on the warm grass in the forest; the moon gives us light from the darkens and I remember her empty green eyes. She said she'd loved me but I had not felt anything. We male vampires, well speaking for myself, I never lie.

I hadn't seen her ever since, rumors spread in the Vampire community that she'd joined the Red Vampire Covenant. There ways of breeding and building there community is forceful, relentless and building Vampires without the need of human emotions. Kill for a sport and make more of us for there own pleasure. For power.

It wasn't until late in the year in 1696  I'd seen her once pasting through Devils High Woods, five winter's ago; living in the Covenant ways, she'd become a flawless beast. She'd been in the woods that night and she wasn't alone teaching there ways and thriving to other younglings. That's when Mabel came to us, Charlie and I. She left Mabel behind all wounded up, she'd told Chris what had happened to her but Charlie isn't much of a sharer.

Mabel was a beast, it took her eighteen months to get some sort of reactions and emotions in her. Anger was the easiest to bring to the surface but other's like sadness, fear, surprised or disgust didn't go so smoothly. Mabel's thirst for human blood was switched for Sheep blood like we normal feed on. Mabel is stronger then the both of us but her weakness is light. Charlie and I; will only look very sweaty in the sunlight, that shine that someone's finished from a work out or sweat from a hot day; but it causes us no pain. Any light that touches her skin burns her leaving marks and scratches. When a vampire almost turns into a beast they get these powers. Mabel is stronger then us; her bones are unbreakable, like a iron hummer but because of her weakness to light her style is like a teenage Goth.

The Covenant fell apart in 1710 leaving the rest of the vampires who had been brought up by there ways and others to found a cure. No one knows about it besides a lady she calls herself Rose, unfortunately she died by a witch trail in 1716.

I saw her once again in 2019, she didn't look like a monster, her pointy cheeks where gone and she had a lover. They'd kiss on a Ferris Wheel, sounds of laughter flows through the wind as I watch. If she was still part vampire she'd known I was here, that laughter I'd never heard, her sarcastic laugh was very well known. A vampire would hear my whisper echo from a mile away. She is completely human.

She must of found out about the cure but how?

"Chris, you okay?" Charlie holds mail in his hands as I walk through the front door. His Blonde hair is off his face and he appears like he'd just finished from a work conference in his formal tie up suit.

"Looks like you've seen a ghost?" He continues shuffling through the letters and then hands me one that has my name on it with a symbol. "Yeah" My voice sounding blunt.

A letter stating that I'd been accepted to Evergreen High College in Engineering. "Congratulations" Charlie place's a smile like he was pleased with it but disappears when Mabel walks by with her mini skirt and holy tights. "Make sure to bring me a snack" Knowing what she meant. "Yes perhaps a chocolate bar is all your getting" He rolls his eyes turning away from us.
