Mystery Boy

I'd remember that day Toby surprised me by my window back at my parents house.  His body posture had changed dramatically; he'd reminded me of an Ape  with  his knees bent at the same level. Minus the hairiness when he stays in his human form. He hadn't lost balance on the roof tiles even though that part  of the house is steep.  His lips  where more plump than I remembered with a fresh cut  on the right side of it. Toby's face expression is full of excitement even though my room was filled with brown box's that had already been boxed up with duct tap and some half full.  " I want to show you something before you set off?" He slides the window up showing me his muscly tanned arms. I wasn't going away to College for another two days but I hadn't had the chance to tell him.  Considering its only a one way letter drop off, there wasn't anyway for me to reply back. Toby would drop in a few months at a time and when he'd did, it would only be a few hours, that it  would feel  like a romantic date night that; I knew it wouldn't last forever.  There isn't enough hours in it to tell him everything. Here back at home, things had changed and he'd known that but his world is so different to mine now. We both know that. Doesn't mean that what we have for each other is any different.  Toby and I had a few conversations about the place his staying, he doesn't tell me everything that I know but when I ask questions he'll answer them.  Werewolves in there human form when they lie, there pupils dilate. Well that's what Toby had told me anyway.

I'd never thought Toby would be so happy for me to leave here. I guess Toby figured I'd  find a way out of this town somehow. I hadn't  mentioned that the College would be five hours away from here.  Toby's lips feels warm against mine but doesn't last as long; helping  me lift a box the seemed very heavy to me. He lift's the box up off the ground like it had pillow's in it but it had all my crystals and rocks.  That I collected throughout my  primary and high school years. I hear Toby greet  mother downstairs in the kitchen, I follow along down stairs where I  find Emma my little sister  sitting on the dinner table, glitter and cut up shapes spreads across throughout it, seemed like she was doing  an art project for School. Some kind of mess  I wasn't allowed to do when I was her age.

Toby opens the front door, welcoming the sunny day onto my skin that seems too pale for summer. Father and my little brother Sam are at front washing Mum's car in the drive way as Toby put's the first two box's into the car. I see Toby say something to my Father  but don't quite hear it from where I stood. They shake hands in delight, there mouths moves and ends with some sort  of laughter that I'd haven't heard in while. "Have fun you too"  Father shouts out and then chaser's Sam around the car to try get the water hoes off of him as he shake's it and goes everywhere.

I'd remember that day, Toby insisted we'd leave my car at a train station and  ended up travelling into the city. We'd go to a buffet somewhere in Logon Street,  he had booked a private room at a restaurant, red rose's and candles surround the room. The  golden cutlery shines against the wine glasses and; the smooth music dancers softly around the room. Toby pulls out the chair  for me to take a sit.  We hadn't been out  to a fancy restaurant in a year and a half.  Not that we hadn't been to a normal casual restaurant but it would be at a corner table or the far table towards the back door.  He'd  say it would help him  be in control.   Toby's food request were always odd, he'd always  get's  questioned on it; by another waiter or a chef as if  the first waiter who wrote it, wrote it wrong.  He always order's rare meat on his plate; different types of meat and coconut water.   His sharp front teeth come out slightly when he eats but never seems to let his cutlery go to stray.

Later on when we finished dinner we walked by on the beach and ended up watching a  Light Show in the city, full of beautiful neon drone's in the sky above us.

The train back home I'd fallen asleep on his shoulder,

We say our goodbye's at the end of the night, what feels like the worst part of it all. Although our intense make outs double every time.

That was the last good memory of Toby and I together. It's been five months since I've seen him but his letter's come through my door. No that he actually drops it by himself at my dorm room, we have a mail person that come's by our dooms on campus. The envelopes drops onto the carpet,  mix in with Willow's Letters which is my  room mate.  "Girl, your mystery letter has arrived" Willow's African accent is strong this afternoon. Toby's letter's stand out from the rest, pale and cream colors throughout the pile; but his one is a smoke wood color with a red mark ink on it  to seal the folds.  I snatch the letter out of Willow's hands making her grin; she bumps her hip lightly into mine.  I know Willow will never open my mail but she knows these aren't just normal letter's. I open it with a nail filer that sends my stomach  in a knot.  I feel Willow's head come in closer as I pull in the letter to my chest. "Oh come on Hannah, This guy needs to stop being all mysterious if his serious about you" She sits back on her bed taking a harsh bite of her red liquorice stick. "Would  you tell him to show his face around here or else people  are going to think you have serious problems"  She sighs looking through the mail. Only if she knew there was no way to write back; she'd lose her mind and tell me to move on. "I'll tell him you say hi and he'll be around soon enough" Trying to sound convincing but by Willow's eyebrow's rising slightly, I don't think it worked.  "Well I'm outta here, see you in class" Willow puts another two letter's on my desk where I sit before heading to the bathroom.  Our class doesn't start until two pm; which is in another two hours. She comes out of the bathroom with fresh red lipstick on her lips and then placers her thick glasses on her nose; leaving the room with more books than she needs for our class which gives me a hint she going to the library.   She opens the door in time for Gabriella greeting her with a hug and then gives me a quick wave before they leave the room. Gabriella and I aren't exactly friends but we aren't  enemies either.

Gabriella and I work together in a Beauty Salon, the salon is around the corner in a shopping center. I started only a few weeks solely doing make up and eyebrow waxing which I did a course in high school.  Gabriella always wears her hair in a high bun when working but when she isn't it'll be down in long messy waves.

Toby's letter has four simply sentence, he ends it with my love and then the normal two letter's I'd known very well from all his letter's I had gotten from him.

 Burn Me.

Knowing well  I hadn't burnt any letter's he'd sent me.

I place the letter inside the envelope and then put it inside my night stand. My phone vibrates on top on my bed where my clothes is ready for a date with Chris tonight. Something that I had not planned for, guilt  feelings kicks in but I push them aside putting my headphones on.
