Chapter 2: A Night To Remember

The house is filled with energy as Janna and I stepped inside the luxurious bar her in Barcelona owned by Janna's Dad. We were greeted by laughter and a low thrum of music.

"Amazing to see you here, Mackenzie Hansen," one our friends greeted me with a friendly smile and then kissed both of my cheeks.

Tumawa lang ako at napailing. "Hi there, Darcy. How are you?"

"Estoy bien. How are you, darling?" He guide me and Janna to this table. I was greeted with whispers from people as me and Janna walked. "I'll buy you drinks, girls. Stay here for awhile, okay?"

"How was your photoshoot here?" Tanong ni Janna nang makaupo kami.

"Okay lang naman," sabi ko as I lean back in the plush, velvet armchair. My thoughts drift back to the vibrant streets and breathtaking architecture here in Barcelona. "We started dun sa Old Gothic Cathedral. Ganda ng lighting, and there was this rooftop where we had our shot and saw overlooking the views of the City."

Janna and I had been friends since we're in Grade 2. His dad and mine are quite close. Since then, we shared everything towards each other, sabay kaming nagstu-study.

Originally, there's supposed to be the four of us, pero mas close kami ni Janna. She's loved by my mother on how elegant and passionate she is.

Darcy came with a drink and put it on the table. Darcy is also my gay bestfriend. Dad doesn't really like him that much knowing that he's gay. Pero hindi ko naman nakikitang issue ito. I'm so excited now that he'll move in  ulit sa Pilipinas to study.

"Kumusta naman ang team, Kinn?"

"They're fine," I replied. "Professional, too. Ginagawa lang namin 'yung trabaho namin. Wala rin naman akong masyadong close 'don. I'm planning to take a break on this exhausting photoshoot."

"Stop your modeling career?" They said shockingly.

Tumango lang ako. "I'm gonna focus on my study."

"We'll see 'pag nakabalik na tayo sa Pilipinas."

We clink our glasses together, toasting to our future adventures.

"By the way, I invited Cassie's friends to perform here," Darcy said while sipping his drink. "They're in a band," He winked at Janna, pero iniripan lang niya si Darcy.

"Chase is so hot, that's why I invited them."

Napailing nalang ako sa kagaguhan nila. Narinig kong nag-ring ang phone ni Janna. I saw her Dad calling and she immediately stood up and excused herself. "I'll go to the bathroom."

"Darcy!!!" Rinig kong may tumawag sa pangalan ni Darcy. I saw three people running towards him and hugging him tight.

I saw a guy stepped forward and extend his hand. "Hi! I'm Chase. This is Ava and Theo."

Ava, a girl with blonde hair, flashed me a friendly grin. "Hi! All the way here we're just talking about why is it a crime to eat a pineapple on pizza."

"It is not a crime!" Theo said smiling.

Tumawa ako at tinanggap ang pakikigkamay nila. "Mackenzie." I introduced myself to them.
