Chase's POV:

"Where is Dee?" I asked as I walked into the living room.

"She went upstairs."

"Is she feeling okay? Because it's not like her to want to lay down during the day." I said. Worry was starting to niggle at me.

"She didn't say she was feeling bad or anything." Said Parker.

"Then what happened? Because when I went out, she was fine. I come back in and she's gone." I said, walking closer to Parker. As soon as the words were out of my mouth, I saw Parker's frame go ridged telling me that there was more going on that what she wanted to admit.

"I told her not to break your heart. And that if she was 100% sure that you were what she wanted, then she needed to leave now. Because I didn't want to be there to pick the pieces up again." Said Parker.

"You did what now?" I said, rage flowing though my system.

"I was just looking out for you Chase."

"I don't need looking after Parker. Yes, you are a friend but you also work for me. I don't need you to cause trouble where there isn't any. I'm perfectly capable of that on my own."

"She doesn't know how you were last time." Said Parker, walking over to me and placing a hand on my arm. "She didn't see the tears that I saw. She didn't see the pain that you dealt with."

"And neither did you expect for once." I said, stepping back so she wasn't touching me.

"And that once was enough for me to not ever want to see you like that again." She said, stepping forward.

"Why do I feel like there is something else?"

"Well, I may have given her the slightest indication that something happened between us during that time." Said Parker, a smirk on her face. White-hot rage simmered through my blood in that moment and I had to fight the urge to strangle her.

"Why the fuck would you do that? You know good and fucking well nothing has ever happened between us and never fucking will." I roared, smiling inwardly when my tone made parker step back and drop her head in shame. That's when it hit me. Over the years, anytime that I have called Parker for help with wardrobe or whatever, she had dropped everything and came running; didn't matter who she was with or how busy she was, she always came whenever I called. Had she really been holding out hope that I was going to want to make a life with her all of these years?

"What were you hoping for Parker? That one day I was going to wake up and realize that I was in love with you?" I said. She winced at the tone of my voice.

"Maybe." She said. I have to give her credit, at least she admitted what she had been wanting instead of trying to deny anything.

"Not going to happen. I wasn't even looking for love when I found Delilah. But now that I have found her, there is no way in hell I would ever give her up."

"She doesn't know what it like to live a life on tour." Said Parker, her eyes lifting to mine. "I do. I've been on the road with y'all. I've see how busy things can be, how hectic it can be to move from one city to the next in a matter of hours."

"Then I guess it's a good fucking thing that she will be traveling with me the rest of the tour huh? What better way for her to understand the ins and outs of my life than to live it first fucking hand?" At my mention of Delilah joining me on the road, Parker inhaled sharply, obviously shocked that she and I were that far along in a relationship that I would want her to join me. And why wouldn't she be? For all everyone knew, she and I had been together for a while now.
