Jeremiah is the example of "perfect on paper but not perfect for you"
Jeremiah is everything you could ever wish for in a guy, it's impossible not to adore him and he's simply amazing but it doesn't mean it's gonna ignite the fire inside you.
Jeremiah is always there for Belly, he makes her laugh, they have the same sense of humor, they talk and they have great complicity...but love is made of complicity and passion otherwise that's just a friendship.
I've never felt like Belly truly ever saw Jeremiah as a lover, she was giving it a shot 'cause she convinced herself "I deserve someone LIKE him" but she knew in the back of her head she just settled for it.
She wishes for a Jeremiah but she craves and loves Conrad, his eyes on her and his attention.
She wants Jeremiah to treat her right but she wants Conrad to treat her right and desire her.
Jeremiah is the safe choice but Conrad is the fireworks, the challenge, the complicity and the passion.
Jeremiah is fondness, Conrad is love.

Also, the seamlessness of Belly and Conrad. From Conrad jumping into the Volleyball game and helping Belly WIN to Conrad stepping up to dance with Belly at the Deb Ball. They're seamless. Belly was clumsy while dancing with Jeremiah and Jeremiah was careless playing volleyball with her. Belly and Conrad have their own rhythm. They fit and they flow. It's seamless.
Belly and Jeremiah are the textbook definition of platonic love. The drama made it look like there's more, but honestly? There's no passion. There's no true romance between them. There's just childhood friendship Jeremiah misconstrued as love. Jeremiah deserves better than Belly. Both in the books and the show. When Belly's heart so obviously belongs to Conrad and always will, how can anyone believe Jeremiah deserves to settle for that half-assed love she's giving him?
