01: Calum
I stared at the minute hand on the clock, impatiently waiting for the bell to ring. Every time it ticked, I got even more excited. I needed to get those 1975 tickets that were on sale at 4 PM and it's about to be a quarter past 3. I was planning on getting the tickets in California since it's around the time when I have to go visit campuses and Mali.
When it was a minute before the bell was about to ring, I began to shove everything in my bag, copying everyone else. Finally, when it rang, I shot up out of the stiff, uncomfortable metal seat and ran to my locker. I quickly turned the nob off the lock and took my folder for homework. I slammed the locker door shut and walked out of the school. It was only 3:20 PM and my locker is near the entrance of the school. I quietly thanked God and continued to walk towards the school's field.
I texted my closest friend, Ashton, where he was. He knows how important these tickets are for me. Ashton and I are very different people. Like Yin and Yang. He's the only person I trust to actually help me and he has the whole school to trust since every girl wants to jump on him. I also trust my sister, but she decided to choose California instead of me. Such a bitch.
"Nice seeing you here, f****t." A voice so familiar to me made me want to run. I kept scrolling through my Twitter feed until the guy snatched the phone away from me, throwing it behind him. I flinched when it hit the cement. "What do you want, Alex," I tried my very best to sound intimidating, but all that came out was a quiet and soft voice. Before Alex could say anything, a huge hand grabbed his arm and whipped him around. "How many times do I need to tell you to leave Calum alone," Ashton spat.
"You don't go to this school, so guess you can't do anything about it." Alex rolled his eyes. Alex tried to make him seem like he wasn't afraid, but when you get Ashton mad, you're going to be fucking scared. Possibly poop your pants. "Oh I'm gonna do something about it-" before Ashton could throw a punch, I quickly stood up and grabbed his fist. I shook my head with sad eyes and he whined.
"Please Cal, one punch won't hurt anybody."
"Last time I checked, it does."
Ashton took a deep breath, and let Alex go. He brushed himself off while the two of us began walking over to Ashton's white BMW. I still don't understand how he can afford that with the number of times he's complained about being 'the poorest person in this entire galaxy.
I sat in the front seat, next to Ashton, and clicked my seat belt in its socket. I checked the time and it was a quarter till 4. It was fine though since I only live 10 minutes from the school.
"What are you doing today?" he asks. "I mean, after I try and get those tickets, nothing really." i leaned my head against the cold window. "Okay then so after you get those tickets, why don't we go to a party. You need some friends other than me and people online," he sighed. "Ashton, even you know that's obviously a no." I could see my house in the distance. It's very difficult not to miss. It's the biggest house and the most expensive house in the city. "C'mon Calum!" He nudged my shoulder. "Even if I said yes, you best know my dad would lock me in my room for going to parties. And no, I'm not sneaking out." Ashton sighed while parking in front of the house. I gathered my stuff and jumped out of the car.
"Bye Ash!" I yelled. He smiled and flipped me off until he took a left off the street. It's normal.
I opened the door and nearly forgot to take out the keys. I bolted up the stairs to the black door that had a classic 'do not enter' sign. I pushed the door open, throwing my bag, and taking my laptop of my desk. I went to my bed and turned on then laptop, showing me it was 5 minutes till 4. I logged in and it was already on the website of where the tickets where gonna be sold half off.
4 more minutes.
3 more minutes.
2 more minutes.
I started counting 60 seconds when it came down to the last minute. I looked up and it was 4. I refreshed the page and instead of seeing $200 dollars for a floor seat, it lowered half of it. I quickly clicked the 'Get Tickets' button and it began to process. I crossed my fingers and began praying to whoever, I didn't care. "I'm telling you if I don't get these tickets, I might as well chop off my-" That's when I heard a ding. I opened my eyes and saw a green check mark.
I GOT THE FUCKING TICKETS.
(a/n okay so i don't know how it works when you buy tickets so don't attack me fam)
I screamed and started crying. This was the best day of my life. I get to see my fathers. Especially Matty. I clicked print and heard the printer in the next room turn on. I didn't want the tickets to fall on the ground so I went to the next room and came right back to my room after I took the printed ticket. I suddenly noticed there were two tickets. I shrugged, thinking I would just ask Ashton to come with me since he doesn't really care where we are and when it is, only if I pay. Anyways, where both in year 11 and are visiting the same colleges in Cali.
I laid down, satisfied on what I have just accomplished. I grabbed my phone and saw a spam of notifications from Twitter. I furrowed my eyebrows and scrolled though them, seeing it was mostly from the same account.
@michaelgclifford retweeted your tweets!
There was only a couple replies though and one caught my eye. I posted a little picture of me raising my thick ass eyebrows and it captioned:
"Calum_Hood: sorry if i hurt, temporarily, or permanently blinded you. i look like a burnt chicken nugget from China, but i still just decided to post this"
The account that liked the tweet replied:
"michaelgclifford: @Calum_Hood omg no. you're honestly the cutest thing i've seen on my timeline or in my entire life. you're jawline can cut some petty hoes and you're cheeks are fucking AMAZING and suit you a lot babe. you parents did well ;)"
I reread his reply and blushed. I started to feel my face. Well, I do have a defined jawline and chubby cheeks. They make me look 15 years old, though.
"Calum_Hood: @michaelgclifford Thank you! You're probably 1000 times better looking than me though."
I waited for a response but it didn't come. I waited a couple more minutes and got a DM for the guy.
michaelgclifford: hey, i'm michael ;)
Calum_Hood: hello michael, i'm calum
That's when the shit started to develop.
