Dream's POV

Weak, pathetic. Those are the words that ring through my head constantly. There was no escape; there was no mercy. No peace. Nothing more, nothing less. Screams of terror surrounded every corner, no way out of this nightmare.

"Can't there be anyone I can protect?" my dream yelled.

Y/N's POV

My breath hitched, panicked as my eye snapped open, rising in a cold sweat as I finally woke up from the haunting nightmare.

"Another nightmare?" my friend Gerheade asked, approaching me.

Gerheade and I have known each other since the beginning of time; she was always by my side when I needed a shoulder to lean on, and I, in turn, did the same for her. Some dared say we were like sisters-in-arms.

They weren't wrong, of course.

"Sorry," I muffled my words, bringing my knees to my chest.

A soft laugh left Gerheade as she floated over next to me. Softly petting my hair as she leaned my head on her shoulder. "There's no need to apologize," she promised me.

Relaxing into her touch, feeling safe. We sat in silence; the sounds of nature surrounding us made us ease for a moment.

Taking a deep breath, pressing my lips into a thin line. "They won't go away," I tell her.

A sigh left Gerheade as she continued to comfort me. I can tell she's at a loss; even though I try my best to lift the burden off her shoulders, I can always tell what Gerheade's feeling.

Even though I try, I can tell by the silence that Gerheade is trying to find the right words to comfort me.

The silence that was once peaceful was interrupted by Gerheade. "Don't worry. They'll go away soon,"

I lifted my head off her shoulder and faced her with a confused face. "How do you know?"

She let out a giggle, a soft smile gracing her features. "call it a fairy's instinct,"

I was sitting near the front entrance of the fairy king's forest, admiring the sounds of nature. But, lately, I've been feeling down and can't seem to shake the nightmare I had.

A soft sigh escaped my lips as I buried my head in my knees until I felt something wet lick my cheek. It instantly brightened up my mood as I knew who it was

"Hey, Oslo, how are you?" laughing as he continued to lick me. "Oslo! That tickles!" dying of laughter, lying on the ground, trying to make him stop.

After a few attempts to make him stop, I successfully did and sat up. Wiping the saliva off my face.

Oslo, Barked happily as he successfully lifted my mood in the process.

"That's good to hear," petting his head, which he seemed to enjoy.

The winds wrestled uneasily as I sensed someone coming this way. Oslo, on the other hand, growled as he got in front of me, protectively hiding me behind him as he grew into his full size.

The unknown person, who looked like a young boy, entered the vicinity of where Oslo and I were. "Oslo! There you are! So, this is where you ran off to,"

Oslo continued to growl at the unknown person as I tried my best to calm down the black hound. "Oslo! Calm down! I'm sure he means no harm!" trying to calm him down.
