Chapter 2

I was smiling confidently while talking with some unfamiliar people.

Umalis na kami sa harapan at nakihalubilo sa mga tao. Nanatiling nakahawak sa aking baywang si Archer.

I sniffed him. He smells mint. Patago ko siyang inamoy dahil ang bango niya talaga.

I rubbed my waist on his clothe so that I would smell like him.

I stopped when I felt him staring at me. Kumunot ang noo niya, nawiwirduhan sa akin. I looked like a freaking pervert!

I just smiled at him. Pero hindi man lang siya ngumiti. Wala na ang ngiti niya kanina.

He really looks silent. Tatango lang siya kapag may tinatanong ang kausap at tipid na ngingiti.

He didn't even give effort to glance at me. Nasa tabi ko nga siya pero pakiramdam ko ay para kaming estranghero.

Lumapit sa amin ang mga magulang ni Archer. They smiled when they saw us. Tumango lamang si Archer.

"Oh! Looks like you're already getting along!" nangingiting saad ni tita.

His husband whispered something on her and she giggled. Kumunot ang aking noo nang bigla na lamang silang umalis.

Ngayon, naiwan kami roon. And it was really really awkward.Hindi ko alam kung paano ko siya kakausapin.

Yes, he's handsome. But he's really intimidating!

Pakiramdam ko, lahat ng gagawin ko ay hindi niya ikakasaya. Kaya nanatili lamang akong nakatayo na parang ewan.

"Let's go," aniya.

"Huh?"

Hindi siya sumagot. Sa halip ay hinatak niya ang aking kamay kaya wala na akong nagawa kundi magpahila sa kaniya.

We stopped in the garden. Even the garden looks luxurious. What if magpaampon nalang kaya ako?

"Lyrae, right?" Binitawan niya ang aking kamay at walang kaemo-emosyong tumingin sa akin.

Nakatayo siya sa harapan ko habang nakapamulsa. He raised a brow, his eyes almost judging me.

I unconsciouly took a step backward, feeling intimidated. He looked like a different person now.

"Yes," sagot ko.

"I want to get to the point. Cancel this marriage."

"What?"

Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya. I tought...

"What?" he raised a brow.

"Why?" wala sa sarili kong tanong. "This is a win-win situa-"

"Win-win?" he scoffs. "Our businnes can go well without your family. My family just want me to marry you to help your family. Probably because of their friendship. In short, you're only using my family."

I stopped at his choice of words. How rude. I felt disappointed. He's not really something great like how I tought he'd be.

"I'll still continue with this marriage," pagpupumilit ko.

The side of his lips rose for a smirk.

"Desperate,huh?"

What the...What does he mean by that?! Does he think I want this marriage because I like him?!

Pwes, hindi siya nagkakamali.

"Give me a reason not to continue this marriage," I crossed my arms, waiting for his answer.

He sighed heavily as he stared at me. It took him a moment before he replied.

"I'm inlove with another woman."

I was taken a back by his answer. Ay. Ginto na nga, naging bato pa.

"I bet you don't want to be a mistress, right?" he raised a brow.

I tilted my head to the side. Ngumisi ako dahilan para kumunot ang kaniyang noo.

"Then that gives me more reason to continue this marriage," I said before I turned my back on him.

I'm not called the psychotic Lyrae for nothing.

Hindi pa ako nakakailang hakbang ay may humila na sa aking braso at ipinaharap ako sa kaniya.

"Are you that dumb?" he gritted his teeth. "Break this engagement or else I'll tell the media that you only used me to save your face."

I glared at him.

"Mistress, huh?" he scanned me from head to toe.

Bahagya akong nanliit sa aking sarili sa paraan ng pagtitig niya. Para bang hinuhusgahan niya ang buong pagkatao ko.

"Well, what can I expect from a desperate woman?"

As soon as he said those words, he received a loud slap from me.

Bumaling ang ulo niya sa kaliwa. Nagmarka ang palad ko sa kaniyang pisngi. He smirks as he faced me again.

I slapped him again on the other side.

Napabitaw na siya sa pagkakahawak sa akin.

He licked the side of his lips. Bumaling siya sa akin, seryosong seryoso ang mukha.

Hindi ko hinintay ang anumang sasabihin niya at iniwan siya roon.

Humalo ako sa mga taong masayang nagkuwekuwentuhan. I grabbed the wine from the waitress. Inisahang lagok ko iyon.

How dare him call me desperate? Yes, I admit that our family was using them for business. But does that gave him the right to treat me like that?!

I was also forced in this marriage!

"Oh, hija, I tought you're with Archer?"

I stopped when I heard tita's voice.

Tipid akong ngumiti. "Bigla po kasi siyang umalis, eh," pagsisinungaling ko.

She frowned. "Ang batang iyan," she shook her head, disappointed.

Hinila niya ang kaniyang asawa na nakikipag-usap sa mga tao.

"Darling, your son just left Lyrae here alone. Why don't you find him?"

Sumama ang timpla ng mukha ni tito. He nodded and silently left to look for his son.

"Please bear with my son, kailangan pa kasi namin siyang pilitin," tita said. She sipped on her wine. "He doesn't have any other choice because he want to be recognize by his father," aniya.

Huh? He wants to be recognized? Kailangan pa ba iyon? I mean, they're families! Why do they need to work hard to be recognized?

Ang weird talaga ng pamilyang ito.

Umangat ang tingin ko sa tatlong lalakeng paparating.

Archer, Hunter, and tito were walking confidently towards us. Tahimik ko silang pinagmasdan.

Now that they're together, I finally noticed Archer's difference from them. Magkamukha si Hunter at tito. Samantalang si Archer ay ibang-iba sa kanila.

I smiled when they went near us. Umakbay si tito kay tita habang nakatayo sa gilid si Hunter. May malaking ngisi sa kaniyang labi.

Nagulat ako nang tumabi sa akin si Archer. Pumulupot ang kaniyang braso sa aking baywang at ngumiti na parang walang nangyari.

Ngayon ko lang napansin na ang peke pala ng ngiti niya. I tought he was smitten because his smile was wide when he saw me!

It's really not good to assume.

"Lyrae, this is Hunter, my son. He's younger than Archer," pagpapakilala ni tito sa kaniyang anak.

Hunter extended his arms.

"Nice to meet you," he smiled cockily.

Patago akong umirap. I accepted his handshake.
