Last night was something I certainly didn't predict. I was waiting for everyone to get back but here I am instead waking up in Riley's bed
I looked down t o see her head on my chest, her hair slightly falling over her face while all the covered our bare bodies were the sheets
"morning" She whispered tilting her head lightly to look at me
"morning" I replied gently pecking her lips
"What time is it?" Riley asked making me look at her clock on the bedside table
"8:34" I chuckled
"Oh god, I'm going to be late" she panicked attempting to get out of the bed, I grabbed her hand pulling her back down
"Ri, it's Saturday what could you possible have planned this early in the morning" I said making Riley roll her eyes
"I've had to take a few extra classes and they all land on a Saturday" She said offering me a sincere smile
"Since when? And Why? I thought you were smashing your course?" I questioned making Riley nod
"i'm top of my class thankyou very much but no it's a complicated story that I do not have time to explain right now" She said tapping my nose escaping my grip
She got up leaving the sheets behind exposing her entire body, it was a view I was not going to complain about
As she got herself dressed I picked up my phone from the side to see a bunch of missed calls and texts from everyone
Turns out, none of them even bothered to come back last night. They crashed at Eldon's
Shocker
"You can stay here and wait for everyone if you want" Riley said but I shook my head pushing myself out of bed
"Actually, I have to go meet them for breakfast. But I'm going to walk you to class first" I said making her smile
"You really don't need to James I-" She started before I rolled my eyes cutting her off pressing my lips against hers earning a smile instantly
It didn't take us long to get to Riley's classroom, I had never been inside the halls that hosted the classrooms, the closest I had ever gotten was the ball at the beginning and end of the year
But even that was short lived
This place along was huge and heavily decorated in the most prestiged way you could think of
The corridors weren't busy but I mean that was a given seeing as it is Saturday
"And here you are" I smiled getting to the room that Riley was due to spend the next 3 hours
"Thanks" She giggled leaning against the wall with me, I'm assuming this meant she had a couple minutes before class
I smiled down and her before gently leaning in to kiss her but right as our lips were about to make contact a voice made the pair of us pull away
Riley and I turned to see who it was and the moment we did my entire body tensed up slightly
"So this is the real reason you ended things is it?" Spencer said making Riley roll her eyes at him
"wait i know you" Spencer growled making Riley look at me confused but I shook my head at her
If I played dumb, maybe she wouldn't read into it? I don't know
"Yeah you kicked off when I tried touching that blonde friend of yours. How's that job of yours again buddy?" Spencer smirked
"What are you talking about?" Riley asked looking back at Spencer
"This idiot used to work at the bar you and your roommate always go to but after he punched me I got his boss to drop his ass" Spencer said
"Didn't expect you to be chasing some townie trash Riley" Spencer said narrowing his eyes at her
"Spence man come on" Another voice called allowing Spencer to leave us, I turned to Riley to see confusion and slight panic in her eyes
"You knew Spencer this entire time?" Riley asked but I shook my head
"No, i mean well. I've dealt with a lot of drunk assholes trying shit with Michelle and sure one of them managed to get me fired but I didn't know that was Spencer. I didn't ever get his name or anything" I explained
"I barely remember what he looked like seeing as the only time I had seen him was a pitch black alley way" I lied
Spencer's is a face I would not be able to forget
"Okay" Riley said nodding
"had i know, I would have told you to break up with him a long time ago" I teased making her roll her eyes as I leant forward finally being able to kiss her

I got to the café shortly after to see everyone already in the booth chatting away. As soon as I approached the table, their gazes landed on me as did the smirks on the boys faces
"What?" I asked taking a seat next to Eldon
"Where were you all night?" Hunter asked with a raised brow
"We thought you may have crashed on my sofa but when we got there you weren't there" Thalia said and I nodded
"no,I headed home. Piper and Brody needed help with something" I lied making Michelle looked at me as if she wasn't buying the story
"What with?" Michelle asked and I rolled my eyes
"Piper almost burnt the house down, Brody was stressing over the mess. You know, the usual?" I offered making her narrow her eyes
She obviously still didn't believe me
I wasn't about to delve in my situation with Riley until I knew what it was and where we stood. Last night changed a lot of things and I think we need to talk it all through before letting the world know?
"Did Riley get home while you were at mine?" Thalia asked and I shook my head
"When I left it was just me. I locked up and put your spare key in the usual spot" I said making it believable
"I can see right through you" Michelle whispered to me so that nobody else would here
But I didn't doubt that for even a second
