"So it won't be a problem?" I asked the gentlemen in front of me
"I don't know young lady, that boy seemed very set on getting his father involved and I cannot have a problems for this business" He explained
I was currently sat at the bar in the hope of getting James his job back. If Spencer really was the reason that he lost it, that isn't far at all
Sure I didn't know James then, I'm not surprised he never caught on to who Spencer was
But just because Spencer is a cheating asshole, doesn't mean that James should have lost his job
"Oh trust me when I say he won't be a problem and if he ever was. My Dad will be more of a problem if it was that you didn't take this deal" I explained
If Spencer can play the Dad card, so can I
"So what your saying is that I need to hire him back?" Neil said. I nodded, I don't see what was so hard to understand about that
"Starting immediately" I reminded him
I heard Neil sigh before nodding his head bowing it slightly before taking out his phone
Making preparations I would hope
"James, hello" I heard Neil say making me smile nodding knowing my work here was done
i got up to head to the next destination of the afternoon
I was due to be meeting Kate here at The Next Step to go over the final checks on the property, the idea was the keep the place out of Spencer's hands and to restore it to the loved place it always was
"You" I heard a voice yell the moment I got into the Carpark, I rolled my eyes seeing Spencer stood there looking very frustrated
"Are you just going to follow me everywhere today?" I asked, after class this morning I had hopped that would be the last time I saw Spencer but evidently he had other idea
"Are YOU trying to fuck with my future Riley! You know the plans I had for this building and then you come in and out bid me?" He yelled
"I needed this for College! You aren't even a business major, how did you get this past the Deane?" He continued to yell while I just rolled my eyes
"That is where you are wrong Spencer, I'm a dual major. Have been for just over a month now" I smirked knowing I had one the battle but I don't know if I've won the way yet
"But why the fuck did you choose this place? You knew I was-"He started before I cut him off
"I knew that you were going to destroy the place Spencer. This place is important to a lot of people, they don't want another apartment block, they want places like this!" I exclaimed
"You don't know what the fuck you are doing Riley!" He warned stepping forward almost as if he was trying to intimidate me
I shook my head at his stupid little tactics before continuing to walk past him
"This is not the end of this Riley!" He yelled after me but I didn't turn back to rise to him. He was the least of my concerns, beginning to question what I ever saw in him

It was later in the evening, I knew the gang were at my dorm but I also knew that James was not. I walked back into the bar and sure enough there he stood serving some boys from my Business class with a grin on his face
He was back in his place and you could tell he had missed it more then he would ever admit
James turned slightly before his gaze fell onto me and his smile grew a little more as I walked closer
"You have a job" I said making him nod
"don't act like you didn't do anything" He chuckled continuing to serve the boys until they had finally left the bar to head back to their booth allowing James' full attention to land on me
He motioned me over to the side gate of the bar, the only way in and out from behind it
"What's up" I said making James roll his eyes before crashing our lips together, I jumped originally at the touch before smiling placing my hand on his cheek pulling him a little bit closer
"What was that for?" I asked as we pulled away
"I know you did this Riley, I know that you spoke to Neil. In fact I know you scared the guy" James laughed making me smile as I stood there with his arm on my waist
"The gang will be here in a bit, why don't you hang out?" James asked but I shook my head
"I have to go to a dinner tonight, plus I think everyone would have something to say if they saw us" I said bowing my head
I didn't mean to make it sound like this was something bad, but imagine getting yourself out of a 4 year relationship to then get involved with someone so quickly afterwards?
That's enough to judge someone that's for sure..
"Let them talk" James chuckled pecking my lips but I rolled my eyes at him
"You would say that" I said shaking my head
"but seriously, anyone will have an opinion. Spencer and I have only recently broken up and" I rambled but James nodded
"Hey breathe" he said pulling me a little closer
"You don't need to justify yourself to me Ri, it's okay" He said kissing my forehead
"Plus a little secret never hurt anyone" He chuckled making me smile
"What time are you back from your dinner?" James asked but I honestly didn't know
"I haven't got a clue why?" I questioned
"I get off at midnight, you can come crash at mine if you'd like? Thal wouldn't bat an eyelid seeing as you tend to stay out when you have your dinners" He explained
"But your siblings will be home and-" I started
"Piper is already head over heels for you Ri, she calls you a princess" He winked
"And Brody wouldn't even bat an eye lid if I'm completely honest" James laughed
"Are you sure?" I asked and James nodded
"So midnight?" James said softly leaning in so there was only a small gap between our lips
"Midnight" I smiled closing the gap gently
