The Secret

Chapter 7

Paige POV:

The next day I woke up with pure happiness. It either had to do with the fact that Sky and I finally kissed or that I woke up in her bed next to her.

And no we didn't do anything. She offered me to stay the night since it was super late out. She even offered to sleep on the couch so I could have her bed but I thought that was crazy so I said I didn't mind sharing a bed with her, and honestly I wish I could wake up everyday like this.

I was a little scared of what this would mean for us especially since she is Geno's daughter and how this would affect our team. But I feel like I finally deserve to be a little selfish in my life and be with the person that makes my heart beat out of my chest when they just look in my direction. So I decided today I'm going to ask Sky out on a date and if it goes well I might ask her to be my girlfriend.

I know it may seem rushed but I just really want to be able to call her mine. Behind closed doors of course. Because our relationship getting out to the public may not be the best.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I feel her stir awake next to me.

"Good morning" she says in her morning voice which immediately gave me butterflies.

"Good morning. How'd you sleep?" I ask

"Good. What about you?" She says as she moves closer to me and rests her head on my chest and her arm around my stomach.

"I slept good too. Who knows maybe it was because you were next to me" I say smiling down at her as I run my hand through her hair. She smiles at what I said and looks into my eyes with pure happiness.

After a couple more minutes of laying in bed and holding each other we finally get up to get ready for the day. I end up wearing a white Slam shirt with black shorts and my black/white dunks. Sky ends up wearing a black slam shirt with red shorts and black/white air forces. I've got to say we look pretty good.

"How were the fireworks last night" Geno asks us once we make it downstairs. Sky and I look at each other panicking figuring out what to say.

"It was good. Very patriotic" Sky says looking at her dad

"Yea it was beautiful seeing them over the tree line" I say lying but he seems to believe it and doesn't ask anymore questions about the subject

"Are you guys going to do anything today or just sit around like bums all day?" He asks which makes me laugh

"First of all we are not bums. And second of all we were just leaving for the day" I say as I start walking away with Sky next to me

"We were?" Sky says confused

"Yup. Come on" I say opening the front door for her "see ya later coach" I say before closing the door behind me.

"Ok so what are we doing?" Sky asks confused now that we are outside. I look around and find a basketball hoop in her driveway with a basketball right below it and make my way over to it and pick it up.

"We're doing a 1v1 first to 10 wins" I say looking at her

"Oh yea? And what does the winner get?" She asks as she walks closer to me

"Well if I win I get to take you out on a date" I say which makes her smile

"And what if I win?" She asks with a raised eyebrow crossing her arms in front of her chest

"That won't happen but if it makes you feel better to come up with something than go for it" I say smiling

"Do you not remember who beat you in knockout?" She asks walking even closer to me if that's even possible
