Skye POV:
We are currently at the Prudential Center in New Jersey for our game verse UCLA later today. It's actually the day before my birthday so that's fun.
We're at shoot around right now but it's basically over so we are just shooting random shots. Paige is on the court with us, on her crutches, which I'm happy about because I know it makes her feel like she's still apart of the team even though she can't play.
"Caroline pass me the ball" Paige says putting her crutches down and she hops her way to the three point line. Caroline passes her the ball and she shoots, but misses hitting the rim.
"One more, one more" she says holding her hands out for the ball again. Caroline passes her the ball again and Paige shoots it, draining the three.
"Let's goooo" she says celebrating by hopping on one foot as I smile at walk over to her. I love seeing her happy after getting injured because it's been really hard on her. She puts up a strong front in front of everyone but I can see right through it.
As I get closer I notice Paige is starting to lose balance so I run over to her and grab her waist pulling her into me so she doesn't fall, as she holds onto my shoulders.
"Okay we're not doing that again" I say which earns a little laugh from her
"I made it though" she says smiling
"Yea and you almost fell over in the process" I say looking at her, failing at trying to hide the smile on my face. "Christyn can you hand me her crutches please" I ask
Once Paige is back on her crutches I begin to shoot again since I don't have to worry about her falling over but instead she just stands in front of me as if she's playing defense.
"Shoot" she says with a mischievous look in her eye
"No. You're going to block it or something" I say
"Now how would I do that? You just saw that I almost fell without my crutches, and the last time I checked my hands have to be holding the crutches so I don't fall" she says with a smirk
I give in and go to shoot the ball and the second I let go of the ball she lifts her left crutch and blocks the shot earning a laugh from everyone.
"Get blocked!" She yells with a huge smile on her face which makes me smile
"I hate you" I say joking grabbing the ball from the ground
"No you don't" she says
We ended up winning the game verse UCLA 61-71. It was a very close game the whole time and we came out in front right at the end.

It's now my birthday and I'm woken up to the smell of breakfast. So I look pick my head up and look next to me and see Paige isn't lying in bed which is weird.
So I decide to get up and make my way to the kitchen where I see Paige sitting on one of the stools on the island with 2 things of food in front of her.
"Happy Birthday" she says grabbing her crutches and walking over to me, placing a soft kiss on my lips
"Thank you" I say smiling at her once we pull away
"I wanted to make you breakfast in bed but I didn't feel like burning the place down since I'm on crutches so I just decided to doordash us breakfast instead. I hope that's okay" she says looking at me
"That is more than okay. Thank you" I say kissing her again
After breakfast we both get ready to head to practice. Even though Paige can't practice she still comes and watches us, so she's apart of the team. And that way when she comes back from her injury she knows all the plays.
