Chapter 13

Paige POV:

Sky helps me take the brace and wrap off my leg and then helps me in the shower. Luckily my shower has one of those railings for old people in it, so I'm able to hold onto that while balancing on one foot.

I'm really glad I have Sky because I don't know what I would do without her. She did so much for me today and she probably doesn't even know how much it means to me.

"Whatcha thinking about?" She asks as she gets in the shower behind me and turns the water on

"Just how I'm lucky I have you" I say which makes her wrap her arms around my waist as I lean back into her touch

"Well like I said earlier. You're stuck with me. So you better get used to it" she says kissing the side of my head "Now I'm going to try to be as fast as I can so you aren't standing for too long okay my love" she adds which literally makes my heart melt

"That's new" I say

"What?" She says

"You called me 'my love' I like that" I say turning my head and pressing a kiss to her lips making her smile

"Then I will keep a mental note to keep calling you that" she says which makes me smile as she grabs the shampoo and starts washing my hair

"Can I wash your hair too?" I ask once she's done rinsing the shampoo out of my hair

"I don't want you to hurt yourself though" she says

"I'll be fine, just hold my waist so I don't fall over" I say as I turn around to face her and she immediately grabs me which makes me smile as I grab the shampoo and start putting it in her hair.

"You better not get it in my eye" she says closing her eyes

"I won't. I promise" I say leaning in to kiss her lips which makes her smile with her eyes still closed

We finish showering and Sky dries off then puts on her pajamas. After she helps me dry off and change. I decided to just throw on a shirt and shorts that way I'm comfortable for when we go to bed and I won't have to change again. She also helped me put my hair in a bun that way it's not in my face.

Once she helps me change she helps wrap my leg back up and puts the brace on too. My knee looks like a balloon that's how swollen it is.

"Do you need any medicine before we head back out to the living room?" Sky asks once she stands back up from wrapping my leg

"No the pain killers Janelle gave me are still working thankfully. But do you know what I do need" I say grabbing her waist to keep balance.

"What?" She asks with a smile wrapping her arms around my neck

"A kiss" I say smiling back

"Oh is that right?" She asks with a raised eyebrow

"Mhm" I say leaning in and capturing her lips

She kisses back with just as much passion and we both deepen the kiss. It's not a sloppy or heated kiss that will lead to something more. It's a slow passionate kiss to show each other how much we love each other and are there for each other and care for each other.

"Thank you for being there for me today and taking care of me" I say sincerely once we pull away

"Of course. I'll be right next to you the whole way through this. We're in this together" she says pecking my lips once more before we leave the bathroom and enter the living room where Nika and Christyn are on the couch watching something on the TV.

"It's about time" Nika says dramatically which makes me laugh as I make my way over to the end of the couch, on my crutches and sit down on the long part so I can rest my leg out. Sky grabs my crutches from me and leans them against the wall right next to the couch and also grabs some pillows.
