"Excuse me," pagtawag ni Hade sa isang staff nurse na dumaan. The nurse stopped from his steps and turned on his heels to face him. "Saan ang HQ ng mga student nurses dito?" Hindi niya na napigilang itanong. Ilang minuto nang hindi nagrereply si Alphie sa kaniya, at hindi pa rin ito bumabalik, sapat na iyon para dambahin siya ng pag-aalala.

"Ah, Sir—"

The nurse's words were cut short when a loud creaking sound from the door echoed through the hallways. Lahat ng taong nasa waiting area ay napalingon sa iniluwal ng pinto.

Aleiah stormed out of her clinical room and down the corridors in the opposite direction. Her steps were quick, and her expression was solemn and almost unreadable (like always). But this time was different, something no one had seen before. The kind of expression that would frighten, if not worry, those who would see her. Lahat ng nakasalubong ni Doctora Aleiah ay halos mapadikit sa pader sa pagmamadali nito.

Her sudden exit left the people confused.

Isang nurse ang lumapit sa nakausap na nurse ni Hade.

"Jigs, tangina," bungad noon.

"Bakit nagmamadali si Doctora?" pagtataka ni Jigs.

"Si Ms. Alphie . . ."

Hade's heart stopped from beating all of a sudden.

"Sinugod sa ER."

Ang just like that, his heart dropped on the ground.
