Chapter Eleven
We had gotten to basically the basement of the Eichen House. It was a dark hall and a gate at the beginning of the cells. Scott, Kira, and I had stopped, noticing we couldn't go any further.
I frowned in annoyance. Mountain Ash.
"You didn't think you were all going, did you?" Fenris questioned us.
"Well, we were kind of hoping." I piped up, annoyed."It's mountain ash, isn't it?" Scott questioned.
"Everywhere," Fenris confirmed. "But heavily concentrated down here." Using a keycard, he opened the secured gate. He looked at Stiles and Lydia. "Valack's cell is the last one at the end of the hall."
Lydia looked back at us, unsure. "We'll be right here," Scott promised.Stiles gave me a small, tight, yet slightly comforting smile before walking down the hall with Lydia. Fenris had buggered off for a while, thankfully.
It had been a hot minute, and Scott was already trying to hear their conversation. "I can't hear anything. Must be the mountain ash." Scott informed us.
"I feel it, too. To be honest, I feel a little weak..." Kira admitted.
"Yeah, it's like being sedated." I agreed, letting myself lean on the old, dusty wall.
Kira turned to Scott. "This was a bad idea, wasn't it?"
"They'll be okay without us. And those two? They're pretty good together." Scott smiled a little bit and I nodded in agreement. If there was universe where Stiles and I weren't together, I'd be glad that Lydia and Stiles would be."Yeah, they are." I agreed.
"No super strength or samurai swords, but they stay alive." Scott continued.
"Stiles really liked her at one point, didn't he?" I questioned, looking at Scott for confirmation.
"Yeah," Scott admitted. "But, not anymore... I mean, you should have seen the way he used to be around her."
I smiled a little. "That bad?"
"He was kind of obsessive, but not all bad. You know, Lydia used to pretend not to be smart?" Scott confessed, and I tilted my head.
"Our Lydia?" Kira asked, a little dumbfounded like I was."Yeah. Stiles was the only one who knew." Scott smiled a little at the memory.
"How?" I asked.
"He paid attention. He listened to her. He remembered." Scott listed. "But, Addy, if you're worried that he still likes her in any way, I can assure you he doesn't. He loves you."
"I know that." I breathed out. "I don't have any doubt that he doesn't love me. But part of me still recons that they could still be endgame."
"Why would you doubt yourself?" Kira asked. "You guys are endgame for sure."
"I don't know." I admit. "I mean... Have you seen my family history?"
"Are you... Saying you might die soon?" Scott whispered.
"It's just a thought." I shrugged. "I mean, it's my genes to die, to not from old age. And I'm scared that it's going to be soon. And... And I've been seeing things, too."
"Seeing things?" Scott asked. "What do you mean?"
I sighed. "I don't know. But, whenever I have this gut-wrenching feeling like something bad's going to happen, Allison shows up." They stared at me, dumbfounded. "Yes, Ally shows up. I saw her like, 20 minutes ago upstairs. She had this worried look on her face.""Seriously?" Scott asked, and I nodded.
"Like, 100%." I bite my lower lip. "I've come to the conclusion that she is my guardian angel. Trying to watch over me. And that I should listen to her signs and callings more often."
"Maybe that's a good thing." Scott tried to smile. "At least we know she's still watching over us."
"Yeah..." Suddenly, the lights flicker. "Okay, did you see that?"
"No... But I am seeing this..." I looked over to Kira, who held up her hands; electricity was sparking from them. My mouth dropped, surprised.
"Kira..." I spoke nervously, and Scott's eyes widen. Scott grabbed my arm and tugged me back quickly.
"Kira, whatever you're doing, please stop." Scott begged.
"I'm--I'm not doing anything." Kira freaked out. "It's just happening." She was full-blowing electric now. It doesn't even look like you can touch her. Suddenly, the lights go out and I jumped as the fuse goes out. I shield my eyes.Scott and I looked at the ground, Kira was on the floor, past out. "Kira!" I cried out, a little nervous. "Scott, what do we do?"
"I--I don't know." Scott panicked. He stepped forward. "Kira?" She was still sparking. He stepped forward, calling her name, but he flew back a few metres away from us, crashing into the bared gates. "Addy, don't go near her!" Scott groaned out.
Suddenly, Fernis comes in. He bends down to Scott. "Are you alright?" Fernis asked him.Scott nodded and looked over at his girlfriend. "Something's happening. And I think she's causing it."
"We need to get her out of here right now." Fernis informed us and I nodded, agreeing.Scott was now on his feet. "Yeah well, how do we move her if I can't even touch her?"
I turned around, watching as the Dread Doctor's are trying to get in. My eyes widen in horror as I watched three masked men. One of the masked men had pinned one of the security guards down. I think he killed him.I gulped nervously.
"I think you better run." Fernis sternly tells us.
"I can't leave her." Scott despartley said.
"I can." Fernis speaks, with no hesitation, and sprints out through another door. My eyes widen.
"Wait--" I tried, but it was too late, he was already gone. The door slowly opens by the Dread Doctor's. "Scott, don't. You'll get hurt--"
"But she'll get hurt if we leave her here." Scott turned around quickly, dashing towards Kira. He used all his werewolf strength and picked her up. He was burning, and you could tell by the way dark ashes were dotting all over his skin. "Come on." He grunts through the pain and I run towards the door where Fernis went, pushing through the door and allowing him to go in.I quickly go in behind them and shut the door, my heart pounding. Oh, my God. Stiles and Lydia. My mind and heart was racing all at once and I felt useless without my weapons. This is why I never go anywhere with out them.
I can only pray that they're alright.
