Chapter Nine

Stiles and Malia eventually join Scott, Kira, and I at the library. After Mrs Finch's class, we all decided we should meet at the library to talk about the Chimera.

"Did you get in to see Lydia?" Scott asked. Stiles went to see if Lydia was okay and tried to get into the room with her.

"No. I tried using my free period but she's still in the ICU and no one outside the family is allowed in." Stiles informed us and he placed a soft gentle kiss on my lips. "Hi."

"Hey." I smiled back as he took a seat next to mine.

"We got one thing," Malia spoke, dropping a big book onto the table. It says Bestiary.

"Anything in here about half-werewolves, half-Kanimas?" Kira asked.

"The Chimera," Scott told us.

"Um, what?" Stiles questioned, his eyes wide.

"Chimera." Scott continued. "It's a creature made of incongruous parts and if Liam said she was found in two burial sites, it means Tracy's not the only one."

"Who's the second Chimera?" Kira asked.

"Of course, there's more," I grumbled.

"And why would they bury them?" Stiles questioned.

"Deaton thinks it's part of their process," Scott informed us.

"The people in masks," Malia spoke up. Kira flips to a page that read Wendigoes.

Night had soon fallen and I kept getting messages from a drunk Mason saying that he's at Sinema's and he wanted me to go join them.

From Mason

Please conme Addy, can get you a boyfrannnd

From Mason
Oops, forgot you have one,... come get me a boyfriend

From Mason

Trust I can get you in

From Mason
Liam's my flight attendant but he sucks

I couldn't stop snickering at his messages, everyone was practically falling asleep at the table from researching. I need a break. Stiles was especially getting tired, he was practically falling asleep.

"Well, I'm off guys," I told them, standing up abruptly, causing Stiles to fling his eyes open.

"What? Why?"

"I'm going to be Mason's wingman." I grinned. I kissed Stiles' lips. "I love you. Text me when you get home."

"Text me when you're there," Stiles mumbled. "Wait, where are you going?"

"The new place, Sinema." Stiles shrugged it off and I was off.

I walked down the long creepy alleyway. A fence was surrounding it, guiding me to the door. I walked up, almost about to knock when a young girl—Hayden, the girl we saw with Tracy, opens it.

"Welcome—You." Hayden deadpans, eyeing me carefully.

"Yeah, hi," I spoke unsurely. "Um, Mason invited me here."

"Sorry, he already has a plus one." Hayden purses her lip.m

I sighed and brought out 100$. "Fine. Will this get me in?" She snatches the money from my hand and smiled happily.

"Welcome to Sinema." Hayden faked a happy smile, allowing me to go through. I pushed past and walked through the long bead curtains. It was hectic. The club was loud, with lots of men stripping and dancing on poles. There was a DJ set up, a lounge sitting area and probably lots of drunk teens. They all look younger than me.

I texted Mason asking where he was and when he wouldn't respond to me, I danced my way over to Liam once I spotted him.

"Hey hey!" I shimmied over to him.

"What are you doing here?" Liam asked, worried.

"Trying to be Mason's wingman—Where is he?" I asked and he shrugged, pointing towards the couch.

"He seems to be doing fine on his own." I watched as he talk to Brett and I pursed my lips together. Of course.

"Then maybe I could be your wingman." I nudged him. "Come on, surely you like someone in here. I'll try my best—"

"I don't need your help." Liam scowled.

"Hey, I'm just trying to help. Since I came out all this way, will you at least dance with me?" I was currently still dancing while he was just watching me.

"No, you're embarrassing," Liam whined.

"No one cares!" I shouted. "They're all drunk!" Eventually, I made Liam start to move to the beat a little and I mentally cheered. We were both dancing five minutes later, having the time of our lives.

But as soon as he began to move his feet, he bumped into someone. More like Hayden. The glass tubes come crashing to the ground and she gasped. I stopped moving and my eyes widen.

"Are you kidding me?" Hayden glares. "Those were 10 dollars each other."

"Sorry." Liam quickly apologised.

"The bartenders aren't just gonna refill them for me." Hayden groaned.

"Um, okay, um, I've got money." Liam stuttered out. He pulled out his wallet. "12 and uh... Change."

Hayden rolled her eyes. "I've got 20." I offered her some more and she stares at me.

"What? I thought you were a millionaire." Liam hissed at me.

"Hey, she already sucked 100 dollars out of me. And it's not like I carry millions of dollars with me everywhere I go." I rolled my eyes, as Hayden takes the money from us.

"You still owe me 200," Hayden tells Liam. She hands him back the loose change.

"Sorry, I tried." I sheepishly said. "I'll give you it tomorrow."

"No, I've got to do it," Liam told me. "She already hates me enough as it is, it'd make me feel better knowing that I gave her back the money myself."

"Awe, good for you, Li." I tested the new nickname. He gave me a look but doesn't say anything, so I took it for a win. I smiled widely. "Care to dance some more?"

"I think we've had enough dancing," Liam told me, shaking his head. Suddenly, I hear a low growling in the background of the music. "I think that's our cue to go."

"Um, I think I'm just gonna stay here and dance—"

"Addison," Liam had dragged me from the dance floor to the back room and I internally groan. Liam had growled and jumped on this guy who was about to claw at Brett. I immediately rushed to Brett.

"Brett, oh, my God." I rushed out, and placed my hands on his wounded area, trying to stop the blood from coming out.

"Addison, I'm fine, I'm healing anyways," Brett informed me and that's when I got it. Right, he's a werewolf. I nodded my head and pulled out my gun, clicking the safety off. Brett grabbed my by the wrist, pulling me back. "I don't think that's a good idea."

"Why not?" I seethed.

"Because we're in public?" Brett huffs and I lowered my gun.

"Fine," I mumbled, watching as Liam grabbed the guy's wrist, trying to stop him from clawing him. He had scorpion-like features on his arms, which made me shiver.

I kicked my leg high and smoothly, kicking the guy's arm away from Liam. "You're a little late!" I turned to see Scott and Kira appearing.

Scott had tackled the guy to the ground and Kira got out her Katana. As we were fighting the guy, Kira comes in, flipping her katana around.

"What is that thing?" I heard Brett ask as Mason was now by Brett's side, pressing his hands against his wound. Kira was dodging all the hits and punches that the guy was throwing at her, and Liam eventually got into the battle again, throwing him to the ground.

My eyes widen as the fox spirit like comes out of Kira, she was yelling some Japanese, but Scott had stopped her from putting her Katana through the young guy. "Kira!" Scott yelled, jumping in the way. The fox spirit slowly faded away, revealing our Kira back. "Is everyone okay? We need to get him out of here. Liam, give me a hand."

As the boys went to pick him up, something was shot through the young guy's stomach, causing them to drop him. It was a spare. We looked up, and on the veranda, there were three men with masks standing there.

"Why did you do that?" Scott asked, looking up at them.

"His condition was terminal." One of the masked men spoke.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"What does that mean?" Scott repeated as the three masked men were walking away. So this is what Malia was talking about...

The masked men turned back to him. "Failure."
