Chapter 6

I ran.

I didn't know where I was going, just following my instincts as I dashed through the cold streets of London. It was dark, but thankfully the roads were lit with street lights. I could hear the wind whooshing through my hair as I ran full speed, trying to look for Christopher.

I caught a glimpse of him turning a corner not too far away. I pushed myself harder but the heels weren't doing any good; they hurt my feet way too much and I couldn't afford slowing down. I took them off in light speed and hurriedly followed Christopher.

I turned the corner and found myself in a dark alley. According to the movies I watched, dark alleys like those were never good. I scanned the alley, looking for Christopher and found him sitting on the floor, his back to the dirty wall.

I put on my heels again looking at the condition of the floor. It was dirty and sharp, definitely not for bare foot. I walked towards him with hesitant steps with the clicking sound of my heel echoing through the alley. I was unsure of what his reaction would be when he saw me so I kept my guard high just in case and stood a foot away from him silently waiting for him to raise his head and look at me.

After what felt like forever, he lifted his head up connecting our eyes. He didn't speak, but he didn't have to; his face expression said it all. He was scowling, making his lips frown and his nose scrunch up; but it was all nothing compared to his raged eyes. He looked as if he was ready to kill, it was a side of Christopher I've never seen before, and hoped I never seen before.

His eyes softened at my sight and I took that as a sign for me to approach him. I didn't know what to do, but standing there staring down at him was plain awkward. Oh screw the dress; I sat on the floor next to him.

We sat in silence for a couple of minutes, gathering out thoughts. I was really irritated by his absurd attitude back at the restaurant and I wanted an explanation. "What was that back there?" I asked in a demanding tone.

He looked at me in disbelief. "Don't you know by now? All my actions and words mean nothing to you?" he asked his voice getting higher with rage. What in the world was he talking about? I voiced my thoughts and he got up starting to pace around like a crazy maniac.

I was starting to freak out as I got up and walked towards him trying to calm him down. I extended my hand and was about to touch his shoulder when he grabbed my shoulders and held me firmly in front of him. I looked at him, confusion taking over all of my emotions. What he did next probably was the biggest shock of my life.

He leaned down and kissed me.

I was paralyzed, completely speecless. After a few moments I found myself responding and kissing him back. My eyes fluttered close as his kisses became rougher. I slid my hands around his neck as his hands trailed their way towards my waist and pulled me closer to him. I could feel his body heat seep through his shirt as we got unbelievably close.

After a few moments, I pulled away trying to catch my breath. I looked as his eyes that were filled with lust as he set his forehead on mine, breathing hard. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do this," he said as he pecked my lips again, "from the moment I set my eyes on you and I had this huge urge to ravish you with kisses."

I looked at him in shock, not believing my ears. Does that mean he likes me? I felt my cheeks flame as I looked down at the floor shyly.

I turned away in disgust when I saw my Amelia being kissed by my brother. I didn't even bother waiting to see if she'll kiss him back before I was strolling through the streets heading back to the restaurant.
