Ada POV

The voices had calmed down since that night. Techno had held me tight until we had both fallen asleep, according to Phil, our snores could be heard by the whole SMP. That was the first night that i had actually felt (somewhat) safe. Usually, i was on edge, just waiting for something to happen, that something was usually the worse. Every creak, every slight movement would cause me to flinch. Especially after the news of Dream possibly trying to escape and the message, he had given me when i last visited him. Once he had been my greatest ally, my greatest friend. Now, he was the biggest threat to my friends and my safety.

I hadn't attended any of the Syndicate meetings since that one where i broke down. Today was going to be my first one back. I had received all of the news from Techno, not that there was much. The only big development was that Bad had found some weird egg thing when mining out a statue room. 

The snow fluttered gently around me. It was colder than I expected out here. The cold bit at my bare arms, i really regret not bringing my cloak but i was going to be late if i went back for it. 

 Halfway to the entrance of the meeting room, I felt hands on my shoulder. I swung around, my blade drawn, I drove the pummel into the person's stomach. However, they caught my hand before i could finish the move. Swiftly i turned around to face him but it was only Techno.

"You scared me!" I punched him in the stomach, which probably hurt me more than it did him. 

"Sorry Ada just thought it would be funny. Oh... and do you want this?" he held up my cloak. I took it, thankful for a relief from the cold. The silence as we walked was not unkind or harsh but calming. I was slightly worried, but that was probably just because I hadn't been out of the house in ages. I had been staying with Techno instead of at my house because i didn't feel safe alone.

Bird calls sounded from out of the woods and i jumped at the sudden noise. Techno looked at me with a little bit of worry in his expression, but i brushed him off.

 Once we got to the entrance, Tech held his hand out for me. I was always afraid of this part. We took a deep breath and jumped.

When we reached the floor, I took a deep breath. In the darkness, I could just make out Techno's lean frame and, once again he took my hand in his. We started to walk down the long corridor towards the meeting room. As we entered the meeting room, I withdrew my hand sharply from his. I readjusted my glove and looked back at his. He looked a little bit hurt, but I couldn't be sure. I wasn't very good at reading emotions, and it was dark so I couldn't tell. I took my seat at the table, directly across for Tech and I settled in ready for the long, boring meeting ahead.
