Tom knew the password to the headmaster's office, if Harry was a random new student he would have been slightly shocked but he expected it. Harry was from the future and so well aware that Tom Riddle was in the good graces of their current headmaster, why wouldn't he, after all Tom was the past version of the person he was fated to either destroy or be destroyed by. As Harry's previous train of thought came to a halt he mentally noted that Hogwarts had not changed that much from what he remembered it was in the 'future'. Harry had been to the headmaster's office before but not in the time of headmaster Armando Dippet. Harry was coming up with theories on what would happen once he stepped into the room. None of which were correct.

The headmaster had a smile on his face when he greeted them. Shortly after the warm greeting Dippet asked Tom to leave as he was going to discus private matters with Harry. What were these matters? Did Dippet find out Harry was a time traveler? Hopefully not.

Thankfully it was noting like that. The headmaster asked Harry to take some written and practical tests, the tests were apparently supposed to determine what year he was going to be in. After the tests were over Dippet told Harry that he would be in the third year. Dippet waited a while before continuing, ' Hadrian, I know you might not want to answer this question but how did you manage to stay hidden for so long? '. 'Please sir, call me Harry.' Harry said. 'And regarding how I managed to stay hidden for so long, I don't know exactly how. I was just about to finish making a potion when someone threw something at me and it fell into the cauldron. The next thing I know the cauldron fell and I was drenched in the potion.' Harry replied to the previous question. Harry waited in anticipation for the headmaster's reaction.

A look of understanding flashed over Dippet's face 'Oh! I understand, that's enough talking Harry you are dismissed.' Harry could only wonder what Dippet had interrupted his words to mean, so these words that were intended to be calming, further unsettled him. At these words Harry rushed out of Dippet's  office and down the stairs his feelings of relieve only to be scared away by the sight of Tom waiting outside the office. Harry quickly composed himself, reasoning that if he behaved like normal, Tom's suspicion would soon subside.

Harry let his defences relax and approached Tom, 'Hi again Tom' Harry greeted with a relaxed smile. 'If you are not busy can you please help me find my way back to the dorms?', Harry inquired. 'Not if you don't tell me what you were discussing with headmaster Dippet' Tom replied with a smug smile. 'Not much really, he made me take some tests to determine what year I'll be in.' Harry replied casually. None of them said anything after that until they reached the dorms and Harry assumed he might have successfully averted Tom's suspicion.

After that Harry decided to sleep in the common room, he secretly hoped this was all a dream.
