Tom remained angry at Harry, and Harry remained overwhelmed by the unexpected time travel he had undergone until the end of the semester. He had hoped that he could take advantage of the upcoming holidays to leave Hogwarts and get his documents sorted with Gringotts, the wizard version of a muggle bank likely had dealt with time travellers before considering the not so predictable nature of magic. They would probably be more lenient than the ministry of magic.

He would get his fake identity sorted as quickly as possible and then he could start planning on how to avoid having to live in muggle London. There was some cash he got from winning bets, but it would only last him 3 months outside of Hogwarts, that too if it was stretched out, and if he bought food exclusively from muggle sources which were considerably cheaper at the time. It was going to be his first time leaving Hogwarts for the first holiday that was long enough to make that seem reasonable. He was not at all surprised when he learnt that the would be traveling to King Cross station on the Hogwarts train.

Today was the day, Harry would be leaving Hogwarts for his little trip to Gringotts. He was waiting along with some other students who were also leaving Hogwarts for the short holiday. Harry pretended as though somebody asked him to come over to avert suspicion from what he perceived to be dubious actions. He had packed up in advance and was looking forward to the train back to King Cross station.

The plan was to hitch a ride to somewhere near the Leaky Cauldron and then go straight to Gringotts to get his documents sorted. Along with everyone else who would be leaving Hogwarts for the holidays, he waited for the train. His patience was slowly running out as his worries built up, but it managed to last until the train arrived.

There were very few students going back home for the first holiday of the academic year. Most of them were muggle-born, with parents who thought that their children had to continue normal education alongside attending Hogwarts, as they feared that Hogwarts was lacking when it came to educating about things that did not involve magic. Harry noted how few students were entering the train along with him compared to those that had come to the station.

A large portion of the students present were there to bade their friends goodbye. Harry searched the crowd for Hermione and Ron, frowning when he realized that they were in another time, maybe another universe. He wished some of his other peers could come to see him off, but none of them existed in this timeline.

Harry knew was not close to any of his fellow students yet. To be more precise, in the past few weeks Harry had been less outgoing and sociable, thus he had no friends among the current student body of Hogwarts. So when the train arrived Harry sought out an empty compartment and sat there alone, thankful that the train was not busy. He took out one of his books from the current timeline and started reading it in a attempt to distract himself from the journey.

The trip seemed to be shorter than the end of year train back to Kings Cross station. They had soon arrived close to the station when on cue, Harry changed into what was normal muggle attire in both this and his time. He knew that if he got any curious glances and stares from the muggles it would be due to the fact that he was carrying a large amount of luggage and was not accompanied by any adult.

So Harry befriended a first year and tried to convince them to let him hitch a ride to the Leaky Cauldron. Since they were already going to go to the Leaky Cauldron they agreed to let Harry hitch a ride. He was thankful that they were welcoming and did not ask him any personal question when they did start to bombard him with questions regarding his experience at Hogwarts. Not long after, the questioning ceased and they had reached their destination.

Harry stared at the Leaky Cauldron, it was so different but so similar. He felt a weird mix of emotions regarding the situation. Harry did his best to suppress his emotions and focus solely on the task at hand. He had to get his documents sorted. Harry thanked the first year and their family and then proceeded to take the shortest path to Gringotts, doing more mental math in an attempt to further shorten the journey to the building. One could feel some of the seriousness eluding of him, seeping out of his facial expression and posture as he walked so fast that if he walked just a bit faster one could say he was running, albeit weirdly. Harry paused in front of the magnificent building, he took some time to rethink his actions before striding in.

Any traces of nervousness on his person had disappeared as he headed to the counter. He got the conversation bit sorted as quickly and politely as he could and they were proceeding to the documents and blood tests part. Harry thought it was slightly amusing how prepared they were for accidental time travellers.

The blood test would have shocked muggle doctors, and it also managed to shocked the goblins, because it just so happened that Harry's DNA was practically indistinguishable from the person he was pretending to be. The only thing that helped differentiate between Harry and his very, very dead and distant relative was a slight almost unnoticeable difference in their magic that Voldemort had caused when he attempted to kill him. So when it came to the topic of getting Harry a new identity, the documents of the dead person he was impersonating were slightly tweaked to make it seem like Harry was that person and the differences present were caused by a potion accident.

As soon as that was done and Harry left the bank with a larger amount of money to his name, and more potential places to live for the summer holidays. Harry did not hesitate to return to Hogwarts after a short shopping trip intended to slightly expand his wardrobe.
