leaving Callum speechless in the hallways.
“Okay class,” I said, standing up in front of the whiteboard. “All you have to do is finish your projects from yesterday. Then, there’s an assignment on the board,” I said, side stepping so the teens could see it, but most of them were only staring at me. “Do you guys think you could stop looking at me like that? I’m just like you guys.” There were a few whispers and people shook their heads. I rolled my eyes. “Get to work.” I sat down at my desk again, pulling out my Mac book laptop. I could hear girls still talking, preferably the cheerleading team. “Did you guys see the new science teacher? He’s so hot!”, “Yeah, I heard he’s only 22!” I couldn’t help but laugh. Callum was the popular football player in high school, and everyone wanted to be him. He made girl’s hearts melt, and then torn them apart. Pretty much a man-whore. I snapped out of my thoughts when there was a bang on my desk. “Ms. Callahan…?” I looked up to see Callum staring at me. “Oh, sorry.” I muttered. “I need help turning on the smart board, do you think you can help?” He asked. Then, girls all over the room started shouting. “I’ll go help! Choose me!” Callum looked nervous, but then came amused. He smirked, and I could tell he was up to something. “I choose….” He put up his pointer finger, moving it around the room. “You.” He pointed to me. “Let’s go,” I mumbled, getting up and walking out the room. “Bye guys!” He called out, waving to the girls. They all squealed. I took the remote for the projection machine and clicked it on. The board began to turn on, and I handed Callum the pen. “Look, Isabella I’m so—“ I stopped him. “Look, I’m Ms. Callahan. You’re Mr. Edwards. That’s how we talk to each other around school. And, I really need to get back to my class.” I began to walk away. He pulled me back, closing his classroom door. “Callum, stop!” I hissed. “It’s Mr. Edwards.” He said with a small smirk. “Let me go!” I said. “If you walk out of this room now, you have to let me take you to dinner tonight.” He said. I shook my head, “That’s not a good idea. For the both of us.” I whispered the last part. “Isabella. Please.” I bit my lip, hesitating. “Fine, but only for an hour.” Callum frowned. “3 hours?” He bargained. I shook my head. “2 hours.” He frowned even deeper. “Four hours.” He challenged. “Three!” I squealed. “You just accepted my first offer. Three hours is the deal now.” I thought about what he said. “You tricked me!” He began to open his door again, letting me out. “Hey, you cheater!” I said, banging my fist against his chest. “Ow, that hurts!” He said with sarcasm, and pushed me out. I walked back over to my classroom to see Callum still looking at me with a smirk. I glared at him, and let out a sigh. A smile began to grow upon my face, and I couldn’t help it now.
