"They think you’re coming with me. They were excited to see you.” There was a long silence. “I should get going.” Chase said, walking out the door past me. Callum was sitting on the couch, and he got up when he saw Chase. Chase moved closer to him, and I could see Callum hesitating. Chase put out his hand. “Treat her right, she’s one special girl.” He whispered in a barely audible tone. Callum put his hand in Chase’s. Thanks, man.” They shook hands, and Chase let go. He walked to the door, opening it. I quickly jogged behind him, opening the door. He turned to face me, smiling. “See you some other time?” He said, and we both let out a laugh. Before I knew what I was doing, I hugged Chase. He laughed again, putting his arms around me. We stood there for almost ten minutes, just hugging. I could feel Callum’s eyes on us, but I ignored it. He let go first, and looked down at me. “Never hesitate to pick up the phone and call me. Whenever you need to, whenever you want to. I’ll always answer. He nodded, rubbing my cheek. “I love you, Chase.” I started crying, hugging him again. He hugged me again. “Shh, don’t cry. I’ll make sure to call, and you can even visit if that’s okay with him.” He whispered in my ear. I nodded, moving away from him. I kissed his forehead, and he began to walk away. “Good night.” He whispered, and before I knew it, he was gone. I closed the door, locking it. I sat down on the floor, and Callum just looked at me. He didn’t say anything, and for that, I thanked him. I did love Callum, but I would never admit it. I never could. Though, I already have. “How are you?” He whispered, and I noticed he was right in front of me now. “I don’t know.” I said softly, wiping my eyes. “Do you want to go out, do something maybe?” I looked at him. “Why are you doing this?” I whispered. “Doing what?” He asked.
“Why are you still here? With me?” I asked. “I don’t know. But I can tell you one thing. I’m never going to leave. I’m not letting you go.” Callum grabbed my hand, kissing the corner of my mouth. I couldn’t say anything. He picked me up slowly, guiding me back to the couch. He sat down first, pulling me onto his lap. I wiped my eyes, trying not to cry again. It was embarrassing to cry in front of Rebecca, and it was worst in front of Callum. He let out a long relaxing sigh, rubbing my back. I began to get up, wanting to go back to my room but Callum kept his grip on me, crushing me back onto his lap. “Relax.” He whispered, leaning over and turning off the lamp. Relax? How was I supposed to relax? “No,” I mumbled, trying to get up again. Callum’s hands locked on my hips, he wasn’t going to let me get away. “Stop, stop! Please,” I whispered, my fists pounding against his chest. I struggled to get away, and after a while I couldn’t take it anymore. “Ugh!” I yelled out, my eyes becoming blurry from the tears that were falling. Callum kissed my head, pulling me closer to him, so now our bodies were touching once again. He rubbed my back once more, kissing everywhere on my face except for my lips. “You,” He whispered, kissing my forehead. “Are,” Now kissing my nose. “So,” He said, kissing my cheek. “Beautiful.” He finished, putting his lips on mine. The living room was quiet and for a while I couldn’t think. “No,” I muttered, moving my lips away from his. “Liar.” I whispered. He kissed my forehead. “Shut up.” He said, letting out a small chuckle. He picked me up now, leading me into our bedroom. He dropped me on the bed, landing on top of me. I couldn’t help but like the feel of Callum’s body this close to mine. It made me feel comfortably safe. “Get some sleep. Things will be okay in the morning.” Callum kissed my cheek, turning over and landing next to me. I turned to face him, then averted my eyes to the window. A shooting star went past the sky, and I could hear Callum. “What did you wish for?” I whispered. “Nothing. I have anything I could ever want and everything I could ever ask for.”
