Mrs Eze

"Ifechii!!,cheta!!
Hurry up,let me drop you off at school!!." I yelled moving downstairs.

I need to get to work on time before my gets on her bad side.

It's been six months my husband died, things has not been easy but I thank God we are able to pull through..

"Chisom, please help me prepare something for Ifechi and cheta biko."

Having prepared for work,my mind clicked on asking Chisom about her scholarship exams.

"Som nwam have you checked the scholarship results?" I asked.

"No mummy I'll check it today immediately you leave for the office" she replied..

"Please make sure you do that,so you can resume with your mates.
I am leaving,
Take care of the house oo.."

Judith (Chisom)

I'm Chisom Judith okorie
I'm 16 years old..
Chocolate skinned, slim, mum said I have pretty face ( buh that's left for you guys to decide lol.)

Well I just finished my senior secondary school one (SS1).

And I applied for a scholarship knowing fully well how hard it has been for my mum after dad passed on.

My siblings,Ifechi and Cheta are 13 and 10 year old respectively.

Being a straight-A student,I had to work hard so I can relieve my mum off some bills..

After mum and my siblings left,I decided to walk to the Cyber cafe down the street to check the result.

I groaned sighting a familiar lanky dark guy walking towards me from the T-junction leading to the next street.

"Ohh God, what kind of bad timing is this nah!" I thought inwardly as I walked faster..

"Chisom!!,Som baby.." I heard someone yelling my name.

"Wait nah.."

"Sammie, what's is it nah?" I asked impatiently.

"Ah ah,slow down na,somebody go dey call you,you still dey walk fast.."

"Shey nah because I like you,you are doing shakara for me abi?" he yarned as he occasionally put his hands between his trousers.

"Sammie what is it?" I asked again , stopping to listen to his unending love professions..

Sizing him up, Sammie is a guy that I live in the same neighborhood with..
Known for his numerous excapedes with 80% of all the girls in our area.

It seems like he wants to add me on his long list of girlfriends..

"Chisom nah..
Why you dey do like this na?
Just reason me nah..
See!!,I love you oo,you know say e don tey wey I dey toast you,you no dey give me face,if you become my babe,I swear I go spoil you with money and gifts..."
He bragged making me scoff.

"I can imagine, can you even take care of yourself talk more of spoiling me 🙄" I thought.

"Sammie, I've told you that I can't be your girlfriend,I don't have any interest in you,
please are you done?
I want to go." I replied.

"Ehnn, because I dey beg you now you dey do inyanga, you no even fine sef.."
he jeered.
I left him fuming.

"Mtcheew,Fool!" I fumed walking briskly down the street..

Oh my God!!! I passed!!
I passed!!
I'm going to bright stars college (BRISC).

"Mummy I passed!!" I shrieked as my mum arrived home.

"Chinekee Imeela!,God I thank you ooo for remembering a poor widow like me oo.." my mum sang and danced.

The smile and joy on her face was so ethereal.
I haven't seen my mum so happy since my father's death.
I vowed to keep making her smile.

"Congrats sis!!" Ifechi and Cheta chorused.

For foreigners I'll need to translate the Nigerian slangs or local languages..

Nah is used lay emphasis..
shakara means pretending

Inyanga means pride or pretence
Chinekee is an Igbo word which means God..
