"Victoria, Mara, which do you think is cuter?" Amber asks, holding up two dresses. A red dress with silver beading along the waistline, and a pale Tiffany blue dress, which was simple in comparison. She was getting ready for her date with Mick, while Mara was helping me with biology.
"Hmm the red dress." Mara chooses, while I shake my head.
I reach for the laptop and quickly type in my opinion. 'The blue one. Matching it with a white belt. Dark colours wash out your complexion, and don't do your hair justice.'
Amber pauses and then smiles, putting the red dress back into the closet. "You are so right, Victoria!" She says before letting out a content sigh. "What would I ever do without you?"
I roll my eyes with a smile on my face. 'You'd be just fine, Ms Fashionista.'
"Also true."
"So Amber," Mara asks after scanning over my homework, looking over my answers to see if I was on track, "what do you and Mick have planned for this evening?"
I wasn't going to get into it cuz it was none of my business, but it's clear to me that Mara has a thing for Mick, even if she doesn't realize it yet. On the bright side, she is nowhere near as obviously as Joy having a thing for Fabian. The boy is absolutely clueless, but she isn't even trying to hide it. It's quite sad.
"Oh he's taking me into town for supper and then on a stroll through the gardens!" Amber answers with a smile. "Isn't it romantic?" She gushes happily.
"Super." Mara answers back with a tight smile, while I just nodded my head.
"And what about you two?" Amber asks as she sits to do her makeup. "What do you have planned for this evening?"
"Oh you know, me and my books; studying." Mara answers, raising her textbook.
Amber scoffs and rolls her eyes with a teasing smile. "Of course. And you, Vic??"
What did I have planned again? I take a moment to think before typing away on my computer as I remember what I had planned, and then what I might consider doing if I had the time.
'Once I finish my biology assignment, Fabian was going to tutor me in history. After that I'm going to chill with Pixie and Joy before having a horror movie marathon with Jerome and Alfie.'
"Eventful." Amber says before finishing up her foundation. Then staring at me through her mirror. "I don't understand how you can spend so much time with Alfie and Jerome willingly. It's Alfie and Jerome!"
'They're not that bad.' The automated voice speaks as I shrug my shoulders. 'They keep things interesting.'
"Whatever you say, Vic." She says with a sigh. "As crazy as it is, I also think it's very brave." I just about scoff at that, finding her amusing, before going back to my assignment
~~~time skip~~~
"Well?? Did he say anything about me?" Joy asked me with a curious smile, and hopeful eyes as Patricia continued to blast music loud enough to where we wouldn't get in trouble by Victor.
I only typed out my response, rather than letting the computer actually voice it out; just on the off chance that someone were to come barging in as it played.
'Joy, Fabian and I were just studying history. You know how that boy is. Far too engrossed in the information, completely fascinated by it, to even possibly want to talk about anything else.'
To this she pouts. "You are a terrible wing-woman."
I type out my next response, and send her a cheeky smile. 'I don't recall ever really agreeing to be your "wing-woman", lol.' Patricia snorting in response.
She gasps and shouts "Rude!" while laughing and giving me a playful shove. I smile, moving my laptop to the floor, grabbing my pillow and whacking her with it.
"Oh it's on!" She shouts before grabbing one of her pillows and she begins to laugh while I just smile and brace myself for impact, the two of us starting a pillow fight.
We whacked each other with our pillows for who knows how long, before Joy accidentally got Patricia involved; it now becoming a full blown pillow war.
My eyes lit up as a song on our resident goth pixie's playlist started going, the first couple of seconds of instrumental going over my head as I hadn't picked up on it over all the laughter from the other two as we beat each other with pillows. I dive for her laptop and turn up the volume, tossing my pillow back onto my bed, jamming out to the song instead.
My friends/roommates pause their battle and watch my antics, grabbing a brush and holding it to my mouth as a mic, lip singing the lyrics I wished I had the power to actually belt.
"I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin!
I must confess that I feel like a monster!
I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun!
I must confess that I feel like a monster!"Joy just laughed as Patricia joined me, but just silently rocking out to the song instead while I mouthed the chorus, dancing wildly with her for the rest. The two still couldn't believe that 'someone like me' liked this kind of music.
The song was just about over when Victor suddenly barged in, shouting and demanding we turn the music down. I had nearly fallen hadn't it been for Patricia. He shot us all a nasty look before slamming our door closed again. I did as told and turned the music back down, but had an amused look on my face while Patricia and Joy snickered and laughed, mocking Victor behind his back.
