Mary's heart raced as she slowly crept down the stairs of her home, carrying her shoes in one hand in order to be quieter.
As she made her way to the door, her eyes darted around, looking for anyone who may have been spying on her. She let out a deep breath when she noticed the coast was clear. She opened the door, slipping outside, and closed the door behind her.
She slid on her shoes and began to swiftly make her way to the place that she and Scarlet agreed to meet.
The stop sign a block away from the dumpster.
It was a fairly inconspicuous meeting place, but it would have to do.
As she grew closer, she noticed Scarlet was already there. Scarlet was, if anything, a punctual lady. She waved hello as Mary grew close.
"Nobody saw you this time?"
"Hopefully not. I took....a lot of precautions." Mary responded, an awkward smile filling her face.
"Lovely, dear." Scarlet pulled Mary in close, kissing her lover under the light of the street lamp.
Mary made Scarlet feel all warm and fuzzy inside, a feeling she hadn't felt since her more formative years. A feeling that she thought she would never feel again when she had to marry that wicked man.
But now, she felt it again, and it made her happy.
When the two finally pulled apart, Mary grabbed Scarlet by the hands.
"There's this wonderful place by the park where we can go stargazing, if you'd like!" She exclaimed. Her eyes lit up brighter than the stars she mentioned watching as she spoke of them.
"If you want to do that, it sounds like a great idea." Scarlet said, allowing Mary to pull her up the sidewalk over to the Park.
There was a big open field next to the park. A few other couples had the same idea as Mary, a few blankets having been spread out and small patches having been claimed.
"You're right, doll. This is a good spot." Scarlet chuckled, watching Mary carefully chose a spot to sit down.
Soon, Mary found a good place, just far enough away from the rest of the gazers. She sat down, motioning for Scarlet to do the same. Scarlet laid down, with Mary following suit. The two snuggled against each other, looking up at the vast Galaxy of stars above them.
"This is nice..really nice." Mary said, her head resting on Scarlet's chest. Scarlet wrapped her arm around her, planting a kiss atop her head.
"So nice. We should do this more often." Scarlet agreed.
"Of course."
