"Dad! I'm going out but I'll be back around 11," Adira called out as she finished tying her shoes and stood up, waiting for her dad's response. She looked down at her watch and felt her heart drop in her chest, "shit shit shit," she muttered and went to go straight for the door, not having the time to wait for her dad. There was a loud shuffling sound from the lounge room and then suddenly her dad rounded the corner, beer in hand.

"Where are you going?" he asked looking at his daughter's outfit choice suspiciously. She was wearing a skirt that came halfway down her thighs, a band tee and boots, "where are you going looking like that?" he rephrased, looking at her bare legs. Adira felt uncomfortable under her father's gaze but tried to brush off the sick feeling in her stomach and looked her father in the eyes, trying her best to sound believable.

"Theo is taking me out tonight," Adira replied with a small shrug. It wasn't a complete lie, she was going to a party and Theodore was taking her. If her father hadn't been drinking so much, which was something he almost always did, he would have been able to see how her hands were fidgeting and how she was biting the inside of her mouth, both things which she did when she was lying or hiding something

"Where is he taking you?" her father asked sceptically, clearly not planning on dropping the subject any time soon as he leaned against the wall, taking another swig of his beer and then crossing his arms over his chest. Adira internally groaned, Theodore would be out on the road in his car, waiting for her to hurry up, he said to be outside by 7:30 and it was 7:34

"I don't know dad, he said it was a surprise," Adira muttered out to him, not being able to look him in the eyes as she begins to nervously crack her knuckles and take a few steps backwards in the direction of the door, "but he's outside in the car waiting for me so I should probably get going, I don't want to keep him waiting," Adira muttered out to him quickly, pointing her thumbs in the direction of the door

"I'll see you later dad," Adira says to him and reaches out for the door handle, the cold metal of the handle sent small shockwaves through her arm, a layer of goosebumps covering her like a new sheet of skin. She didn't bother to wait for her dad's response, instead, she quickly pulled the door open, stepped out and shut it behind her, quickly making her way down the driveway and over to Theodore's car, knowing that she was going to be in a shit ton of trouble with her dad when she got back.

Theodore was sitting in the driver's seat, one arm resting out of the open window and the other on the steering wheel. He leaned down slightly to look out the passenger window seeing his girlfriend running over to the car, a worried look on her face. "Hurry the fuck up Adira, you're late," Theodore yelled, beeping his horn to deliver his message 'more efficiently

Adira opens the car door and quickly pulls herself into the car, quickly shutting the door whilst also being cautious not to slam the door, "sorry Theo, my dad was asking me all of th-"

"I didn't ask for your excuses, I just asked you to hurry the fuck up," Theodore snapped before flicking the car into first gear and taking the hand break off. Adira fell silent, her knees leaning in the direction of her door as she stared out the window, her eyes lingering on Vance Hopper's house as they drove past it.

It was silent for a few moments before Theodore let out a long sigh, slammed his hand down onto the steering wheel and slammed his foot on the brakes. Adira jerked forwards, choking slightly as the seatbelt ripped at her neck, though she was grateful that she had put it on, otherwise she'd probably be hanging out of the windscreen right now, "what the fuck are you wearing?" Theodore snapped as he looked over at her

His eyes landed down on her bare legs where she was gripping the edge of her skirt and trying to pull it down slightly, it wasn't actually that short but Theodore and her father seemed to disagree. Adira had spent ages finding an outfit for tonight and she had actually been proud of the outfit that she had chosen, but she was definitely regretting it now.
