It took Hwoarang and Jin several weeks to furnish the house, transport some of their personal items, clothing, little things they wanted at their new place, like the only old photos of their respective mothers they owned. They accommodated them on a small table, under some colorful flowers, one near the other.
-You're the first to see her, apart from Baek, Jin. I never show her to no one. She's too precious for this tainted world.
The Japanese kissed the man's temple. -I know what you mean. It's the same to me. But they'll be safe here, at our place. It will bring them peace, wherever they are.
-Our place... we've been together five months now, and we already have a house. it's insane.
-A good kind of insane, yes.
Jin insisted on putting some traditional elements in the house, like the tatamis for eating, which Hwoarang found utterly uncomfortable, and the sliding doors between the entrance area -he called it genkan- and the rest of the space. He also didn't allow shoes inside the house.
-You're like an old, pest lady inside an insanely hot guy's body. Know that.
-Just because I care about my traditions doesn't mean I'm a pain in the neck. You should care about yours too, Hwoarang.
-My traditions are booze, bikes, fights, and it used to be women too before you came into the picture. Now I may include blowjobs, if you'd like. Here, traditions.
Jin shook his head. -I still wonder why I try and make a serious conversation with you.
-You know I can be serious, too. Just... not about stupid stuff.
-Well, back to serious stuff, have you hung the punching bags upstairs?
-Of course I did, and I put all the weights there too, and the ropes. All's good.
-Great. Then, I declare the works on the house... concluded. Sake to celebrate?
-Sounds good to me!
The two sit on the tatami and had some rounds of sake, happy and proud about their efforts.
-I have to go back to the Zaibatsu quarters in about ten minutes, though. I have an important meeting with another businessman which I cannot miss.
-Can I come with you this time? I don't want my first moments in our new house to be alone, Jin. Let's at least create some memories together first, please.
Jin sighed. -It's not ideal. And you can't come dressed like this, you're borrowing one of my suits, end of story. They'll fit a little large, but they'll do.
-Yeah, and short, too. Penguin Hwoarang incoming, guys.
The Korean inside a tailored suit would probably be the most unnatural and uncomfortable sight in the whole Universe, so that even Jin laughed at the poor guy.
-You do NOT belong in one of them, I'll give you that. But for today, it'll do.
-Yeah, and then I'll jump from the tenth floor of the building for the desperation. All for you, Jin, don't forget that.
The two then went on their motorcycles, and off to the Mishima Zaibatsu building they were. After a rather long trip, they arrived at the gigantic edifice.
-Good day, Mr. Kazama.
Jin tilted his head at his guards.
-Wait, Mr. Kazama, isn't this punk...- said one pointing at Hwoarang.
