'The Only Exception'

Joseph closed the trailer door behind him, "Joseph, do you not notice this" he looks at me then exhales "I know she can be mean sometimes but-" he started "Sometimes?" I cut him off "look, she is nicer than she seems okay, you just gotta give her a chance" I scoff "A chance? I already know all about her, she wouldn't shut up at the cafe, and she called me obscene and judgy while you were in the bathroom" I yelled at him, "Joseph, she's toxic, she's not good for you. You need to break up with her, what- is she like forcing you to date her or something?" I add, Joseph just stands there not saying anything "Uh?" I say waiting for him to answer "Lana, you don't understand" he told me "I don't understand what? What do I not understand? Are you like, in love with her or something" I yell "No, Lana I'm not. I'm not in love with her" he went silent, tears started to form"Okay, then why are you still with her" he didn't say anything, I took a step closer to him "she's gonna break your heart" I say quietly to him, a tear rolled down my cheek "why are you acting like this, Lana" he asks me "because I care about you, Joseph. You're all I ever cared about, ever since we first met. I knew there was something special about you since that day in your trailer, and as much as it hurts me to see you with her, I tried to be supportive of you because I want you to be happy" After I got done I had realized what I had said, he looks at me "Lana, I-" I stop him before he can say anymore "no, it's fine. Just leave me alone" I turned around and walked away leaving Joseph alone. 

Joseph's pov- 

    I sat there and watched her walk away, after she basically confessed her love to me. How stupid could I be. I stormed into the trailer "you need to leave" I said to Andrea sternly "what she said about me, that's not true" I scoff "were you eavesdropping?" I asked her, she looked at me "She doesn't really love you" she said ignoring the question I just asked her. "she really does love him" Jamie intrudes "no one asked you!" she snapped at Jamie, "yeah, you really need to get out, like now" I told her, grabbing her stuff and throwing it at her. "I didn't even do anything wrong" she said "You called Lana obscene and judgy!! Then you just yelled at Jamie right in front of me, we haven't even been together for a week, a week!" I snapped at her, she looked at me for a second "I dunno what you're waiting for. Get . Out." she got up with her stuff  "me and you are done, have fun with Lana" she told me "yeah think we already knew that" I yelled back at her, while she stormed out of the trailer. 

    I sat down on the couch and put my head in my hands. "I heard what happened out there too, I'm sorry mate" Jamie spoke to me, he sat beside me and rubbed my back. "It's alright, it's not your fault. She literally confessed her love to me and I just watched her leave afterwards, I'm so stupid" I told Jamie, "well you feel the same right?" I looked up at Jamie "Of course I feel the same way" I answered his question, "well then go get her, you guys are soulmates and are meant to be together" Jamie was right, when is he not though. I get up and walk out, then open the door again "thank's mate, you're the best" I said then closing the door again. 

Lana's pov-

    I told the duffer brothers that I needed to go home, when they saw me crying they told me to get some good night's rest and that hopefully they'll see me tomorrow night cause we were doing another night shoot. I get to my apartment and go straight to the couch. I laid there replaying the events of tonight in my head. More tears rolled down my cheek, as each event played. What if he doesn't care. What if he doesn't feel the same, and is telling everyone and they are all laughing right now. Was it a bad Idea leaving, I probably shouldn't have left. I heard my phone go off, Maya was calling me. I picked up "Lana, are you okay. You're not on set anymore" I stayed silent for a minute "Lana?" she called out to me ".....M- Maya" I managed to get out, "Lana, what happened whats wrong" I could hear the concern in her voice "I told Joseph my feelings for him, it completely slipped out by accident. I left him before he could say anything else but I just feel so dumb" I told her "I'm so sorry, do you need me to come over? I can get you some-" she went on as I heard a knock at the door, "hey Maya" I say cutting her off "I'm gonna call you later, someones at my door" I told her "okay, be safe" she told me "I will, bye Maya" we said our goodbyes and I hung up. I walked over to the door and opened it. 

    There he was, "Hi" he said before grabbing my face and crashing his lips into mine. He pulled away from the kiss "but- what about- what about Andrea" I told him, he gave me a soft smile while rubbing his thumb on my cheek "she's long gone, my love" I pulled him into a tight hug "I love you, Lana" he whispered in my ear, "I love you too, Joseph" I pulled away from the hug, "I'm sorry, my love I would really love to stay but I have to go shoot my scene. I will be back for you as soon as I'm done" I nod my head, he gave me a quick kiss before leaving me alone. 

*A few hours later, like 6:00 am*

    I was sleeping, until I felt someone lay down beside me in my bed, I looked over and it's Joseph "sorry to wake you, my love" he said sweetly, he put his arms around me as we both lay back down. "What's the time?" I asked him "6:00 am, you can go back to sleep, it's alright," he said, reassuring me. He fell asleep pretty quickly, and as did I. 

A/N: AHHHHH, there you go!! It's not over yet though, we still have more life to cover, haha. I was listening to Favorite Crime by olivia rodrigo while i was writing the first part and then I was listening to Arms by Christina Perri when I was writing the ending!
