I walked towards his door, taking multiple deep breaths. His daughters were home today, this would be the first time I would be meeting the two of them... Ben spoke about them a lot, he really loved those two. I hadn't felt too comfortable with the thought of meeting his daughters but he'd insisted that after three months together, I should meet them. I stood in front of the door, my hand curled into a first, two inches away, hesitantly I knocked.
The door was opened and I was immediately greeted by a thin, tall blonde with the most beautiful blue eyes I'd ever seen on a child. "Hello?" She said, staring at me questioningly.
"Hi!" I smiled brightly. "I'm Anastasia, I'm here to see your father."
"Oh." She huffed. "You're the new girlfriend. Come on in."
I stepped inside, sliding my shoes off and following his daughter down the foyer into the kitchen/dining room where Ben and who I assumed was his other daughter, sat.
"You're here!" Ben smiled brightly.
"I told you I was on my way." I laughed nervously.
"Well, sit down!" He said, excitedly. "These are my daughters, Haven," he gestured towards the blonde who I'd met at the door. "And Alyssa." He gestured towards the girl at the table, she had darker hair, a light brown or dark blonde I couldn't tell, her eyes looked to be the same blue as Ben's were, and her face had freckles scattered across it.
"Hi, I'm Anastasia." I smiled.
Haven and Alyssa exchanged a glance, before both rolling their eyes. I immediately knew they didn't care to be meeting me.
"Have you got any kids of your own, Anastasia?" Haven asked, taking a seat across from the chair I stood in front of.
"No, none of my own." I answered, trying to keep the smile plastered to my face.
"Have you ever been married?" Alyssa asked this time.
"No, I've never been married either." I replied.
"Have you ever been arrested before?" Haven asked.
"Never." I told her.
"How old are you?" Alyssa asked next.
"I'll be 28 next month." I told her smiling.
"Alright, let's just get to the point." Haven snapped. "How long before you drain our dad's bank account, making him spend all his cash on buying you expensive shit all the time, and then take off without even looking back?"
I stared in absolute shock at the girls, were they actually asking if I was only here to take all Ben's money? I had my own money, I bought myself things. He only paid for me on our first date, besides that I paid for myself. Though, I suppose I understood being the daughters of a well known singer for a popular rock band can't be easy. They must see women like that throw themselves at Ben all the time.
"I'm not here to take your fathers money, I can assure you of that." I told them, still smiling.
"Will you two please, leave my girlfriend alone? She doesn't need to be interrogated by the two of you." Ben laughed, shaking his head.
"Whatever, I'm going to get ready Rachel and Brandy should be here in an hour of so." Haven replied, getting up from her spot and leaving the room, Alyssa close behind.
"They really don't seem to like girls that are around you." I said, once the two of them had left.
"They're very protective." He shook his head. "I don't tend to date the best women."
"Clearly, they seem very guarded." I sighed. "I hope they realize I'm not here to take your money, or just use you for your name."
"I know you're not, they'll come around. I promise." He smiled, kissing my cheek.
I hope he's right, that they'll come around... If they hated me it would make things between Ben and I very difficult, and I wouldn't let myself come between him and those two girls.
