As Christmas approached I realized I should buy Haven and Alyssa gifts, since Ben was insisting I be there for their family Christmas. I agreed to go, since my family did Christmas together on Christmas Eve, and I wouldn't be busy anyways. Now, buying the girls gifts proved to be incredibly difficult, I knew almost nothing about them, and Ben wasn't much help since every time I thought I'd found something good he'd buy it for them!
I decided to ask my best friend, Emily to come with me, because she was amazing when it came to picking out and buying presents. Her and I walked around the mall aimlessly for the first twenty minutes while Emily tried to decide where the best place to start would be.
"Well, you said they like music right?" Emily asked, as we walked towards the food court.
"Yeah, they're used to being on tour with Ben and the rest of Billy Talent, they've met everyone imaginable." I told her.
"Hmm, what's their style like?" Emily asked, smiling at a group of teenage guys who were obviously staring at her.
"Haven changes a lot, sometimes she's very 1950's inspired, sometimes it's band tee's and skinny jeans, and sometimes it's very goth inspired." I told her. "Alyssa, she's very band tee's and skinny jeans. It's hard to get much of a read on her though, she's the quiet one of the two."
"So, Hot Topic?" Emily asked, smiling at me. "They've got the goth stuff, band tee's, skinny jeans, all that fun stuff."
Emily dragged me into the store and immediately began listing off bands, as she read the shirts. I couldn't tell her what bands the girls liked, and what shirts they didn't already own, I'd only seen them a handful of times.
"Oh! Harry Potter!" I pointed at a display. "Haven's talked about Harry Potter before! Ben said she's a huge fan of it."
"Well, there you go!" Emily smiled. "Pick something out."
I looked through all the Harry Potter things, trying to remember if I'd ever seen her with any of these before. I grabbed a pair of pants, with HOGWARTS printed down the side and a necklace with a triangle thing on it... I wasn't a Harry Potter fan.
"Okay, one down, one more to go!" Emily smiled.
Alyssa was a lot harder for me to shop for, I got her a Foster The People shirt (after texting Ben and finding out they're her about it's band), and a little thing of perfume because I thought the bottle was cute.
"I hope that's good enough." I sighed, as we left the store.
"It should be." Emily assured me. "Now, what're you getting Ben?"
"I don't know." I sighed. "He's hard to shop for too... Wine?"
"Wine?"
"He drinks wine." I told her.
"Hmm, I see." She nodded. "Well, I guess wine isn't a horrible gift. Now, it's time to shop for me!"
"What do you need?" I asked.
"I don't know, I need a boyfriend..."
"What? You don't need anyone, Em."
"No, I don't mean that like 'I'm so lonely and I need a man to make me happy', I mean it like I have all this wonderful lingerie and no one to enjoy it!" She laughed, as an old couple gave her a disgusted look.
"Oh my, Emily." I shook my head.
"Does Ben have any hot friends?" She asked, winking at me.
"I don't know..." I trailed off. "I haven't really met any of them."
"What? You've never met his friends?" She looked shocked.
"Invite them all out, we could go to the bar tonight! I'll bring Erin." She smiled. "I want to meet Ben anyways."
I sighed, asking Ben if he wanted to go out tonight and of course he did. I couldn't help but get a little nervous, I wasn't a fan of meeting new people...
