Harry
Spencer switched hotel rooms.
I can't help but feel like I did something seriously wrong. Even after all the shit I put her through, Spencer never moved to a different room.
Until now.
And I know why she did it, I know why it was necessary. It just feels really weird, not having her be just a few feet away. Now she feels so distant, and I feel like it's all my fault. Maybe it is.
When we arrived in Boise, I thought it was going to be awkward to have our rooms next to each other, but Spencer solved that problem by switching rooms with Amber.
In the week since then, I've learned that having Amber as a neighbor means hearing a lot of loud arguments with Cal through the walls, usually followed by a lot of loud phone sex.
Headphones are a marvelous invention.
"You know why I love Colorado?" Louis asks as we sit in the dressing room.
"Why?" I ask blankly, still looking at my phone.
"Because we can smoke a joint while staring out at the mountains, and it's perfectly legal."
"Like that ever stopped us before," Zayn comments as he fixes his hair in the mirror.
"You guys have no appreciation for the small things in life," Louis says, "Maybe that's why you have penis envy."
"Speak for yourself," Niall says.
They all laugh, but I stay quiet. All I can do is look through my phone calendar, and all the texts with Shark. So many missed appointments, all because I was with her.
Shark was right, she was a distraction. But it was more than that, for some reason, I didn't want to meet 'clients' at all anymore.
"Harry," Zayn says to me, snapping my attention back to the room. "You good?"
"Yeah, why?" I answer, trying to seem casual.
"I don't know, you just seem quiet and moody." He shrugs.
"When is he not quiet and moody?" Liam replies, causing another chuckle from the others.
Except Niall, whose gaze lingers on me for a moment too long. But he doesn't say anything.
"Five minutes!" Atticus warns, banging on the door.
"Zayn, you done prettying up yet?" Louis asks, and Zayn throws a towel at his face in response.
The guys finish grabbing their things, and start leaving the dressing room.
"You coming, Styles?" Niall asks, the last one in the doorway.
"Yeah," I breathe out and turn off my phone.
I get up and walk out the room, passing Niall in the doorway.
Backstage, the roars are deafening. It usually hypes me up, but I've been having a harder time gaining motivation for the past few shows.
As I'm heading towards the left side of the stage, someone bumps into my side.
"Watch where-" I start to snap, until I see who it is.
Spencer.
She must have been coming back in from smoking.
She looks at me with widened eyes, lips parted just slightly. She looks like she always does, infuriatingly attractive- no, not just attractive. She looks beautiful- in her sheer top and baggy jeans. She looks so effortless, yet unattainable.
