8. "maybe you flew here?"

I stared at the pink haired girl who smiled brightly at the sight of me in her closet. "I knew you were here! I could smell you from a mile away! But how'd you get in my closet somehow? And why do you smell like dirt--"

I rose a brow and made a sour face, bringing my elbow up in the air to smell my arm pits to see if she was smelling me sweating. "Hey, what're ya' talking 'bout kid, I smell perfectly fine!" I pouted, refusing to believe her words that I stink. "I shower everyday, I hope you know."

She rolled her eyes playfully, waving her hands in front of her nose as if she smelt something foul. "Yeah? Maybe in the dirty waterfalls deep in the woods." I stayed quiet on this part. Didn't wanna tell her, but I do bathe in the waterfalls. But I put it on my life that it's clean! "So whatcha doing here, Mister Natsu?"

"Stop calling me Mister... I feel old." I scolded, yet she smiled with a look that she was not gonna listen to my request anytime soon. I sighed, "I don't know, I just ended up here somehow." I muttered, recalling Zeref's words about sending me to my family.. or whatever he said.

Nashi hummed, "hmm, maybe you flew here?" She's kinda dumb--, "well, who cares! Wanna play? The Redfox twins would LOVE to play with a Dragon! And since you're a fire dragon, maybe you can fight with Griege! He's an ice wizard, just like his papa; Uncle Gray--!" Nashi began to ramble on, but I had to quickly stop her. As a familiar scent walked in the mansion doors.

"Nashi, hold it!" I interrupted. But, from the look on her face, I'm guessing Nashi's enhance Dragon nose caught onto the smell of strawberries and vanilla, as she widened her eyes and pushed my body deeper into the closet and slamming the doors closed in my face.

And in a second, two knocks and a small creak of the bedroom door. "Mommy!" Nashi chirped in happiness, hearing small stomps running off to the entrance. 

"Hi baby! Did you miss me! I missed you! My cute baby, I love you so so soooo much!" I could hear the happiness set in Lucy's tone as she cooed at her daughter in a childish tone. Probably even giving her a big hug, as I could hear her pick up her daughter and swing her body around lovingly. 

"No! I missed you more, mommy!" Nashi giggled. "How was your mission? I heard Uncle Gray and Aunty Erza came along."

Lucy nodded and smiled, "yep. The mission was.. good(?)!" Lucy replied, the last part sounding more like a question, rather than a definitive answer. "Just a little few bumps in the road-- but I can tell we're getting somewhere--"

"Oh! Does that mean you found daddy?" My eyes widened hearing the thought of Lucy finding her baby daddy. I shouldn't be surprised that she was looking for him though. Nashi and I had this conversation about what her 'true mission' really was. 

And by the pause in their conversation, I could tell that Nashi really hit the bull's eye. I peeked at the small gap in the closet doors, and could Lucy's dumbfounded look plastered on her face. Even a slight blush of embarrassment and raised eyebrows, she wouldn't even be able to lie to Nashi with that look.

Dammit Zeref! You take me away from my stalking for ten minutes and I missed an entire chapter! Bastard!

Lucy sighed, setting down Nashi to the ground, and began to stroke her hair back, even placing her little bangs tucked behind her ear. "How did you know I was looking for daddy?"

"I have daddy's dragon hearing, remember!" 

She smiled weakly and just nodded defeatedly, "I should've known.." she muttered to herself. "I didn't wanna tell you this Nashi. But... you're right.. I think we found him."
