Maeve's POV

The midday sun shone brightly through the panelled glass of the library's windows and enveloped me in warmth as I sat upon the cushioned windowsill, indulged in a good book. Number 4 up his room as usual- probably playing video games or listening to loud metal rock music- and Number 1 was stretched out across the couch in the lounge watching television. Me and my brothers had already finished up training this morning with father, and were now spending the rest of the day however we wanted. I was using my Telekinesis to hold up my book in mid-air whilst occasionally flicking through each page just as father had entered the room.
"Ah, Maeve, just the person I was looking for." He spoke as I lost concentration on my book completely.
"Hello father- is there something you need me to do?" I asked whilst getting up from my seat.

"Yes- I would like you to collect your brothers and meet me down here as soon as possible. I've got some good news for you three." He replied in a cheerful tone before I quickly headed up the stairs to retrieve my two siblings. Whatever father was going to tell us it must be quite important- most days he would never disturb us at all. He would always stay in his study- a place we were forbidden to go into without permission. As I approached Four's room, I could hear the sound of loud music blaring from inside of his room before i politely knocked on the door before entering.
"Hey Asher." I greeted whilst leaning upon the door frame, seeing him practicing with his guitar and occasionally scribbling down a couple new notes he added. His chestnut brown hair was slightly messy as usual and his forest green eyes glistened in the sunlight pouring in from his bedroom window.
"Hey Maeve- everything okay?" He asked with a slight smile as he put his guitar down.

"Father asks for us to meet him in the lounge. Not exactly sure why though."
"We'll, only one way to find out." He replied after getting up from his seat and following me out the hallway, playfully ruffling my hair in the process.
"You know I hate it when you do that!" I said in an annoyed huff before shoving his shoulder as I hurried down the stairwell. Asher just looked over at me and chuckled amusingly as I glared at him. Upon quickly arriving downstairs- where we headed to the lounge to acclaim Nolan- the widescreen TV was boldly presenting a football match being played, with Bulgaria vs Ireland (A Harry Potter reference since I'm not confident on football).
"Come on Nolan, get up," I began as I grabbed the remote from the coffee table and switched off the TV, "Father wants us."

"Aw come sis, it's nearly the end of the game!" Nolan complained as he ran a hand through his curly charcoal black hair, his navy blue eyes glaring at me in annoyance and defeat.
"Don't make her force you bro- we all know how well that goes down for you." Asher added just as Father entered the lounge and explained why and what he needed us for.
"I am privileged to tell you three that I have good news for you all. Very good news indeed. It appears that we finally have an opportunity to show the world each of your brilliance. Now I'm sure your all aware that whenever our rivals- the Umbrella Academy- makes a dashing appearance to the public, is whenever trouble in brought within the city. So in order for you all to show the public eye just how powerful you are, I have preplanned an attempted crime at a nearby market, where five highly skilful men in black will arrive with weapons and tactics of how to rob and possibly murder inside the market. Your aim is to defeat them before anyone can get hurt, and make sure that the money is safe. Work as a team to ensure not only the peoples safety, but your own. And remember, this is what you have been training for."

A blanket of silence draped over the lounge for what felt like hours as i comprehended what Father had just said. "Are you meaning to say Father, that we can actually go out into the city?" I asked intrigued and quite excited.
"And that we can help the people for good?" Nolan added, his eyes shining in excitement as if he were a kid in a candy store.
"Yes, my dear children- I most certainly am. But you don't have very long. This act of opportunity for you three is going to begin shortly so you must be ready before we leave in precisely..." Father hastily explained to us as he grabbed out his stopwatch, "...seven minutes!"
As if on cue the three of us charged upstairs to our rooms to prepare ourselves for the fight. I felt my stomach doing cartwheels as I raced to my room, shut the door- using my power to do so of course- and hurried to put on my uniform.

After getting dressed out of my dungarees and hoodie, I swiftly met up with my brothers in the hallway as we practically scrambled our way down the stairs. This was the first time any of us were ever going to use our powers in the public eye for good, and I absolutely was not going to mess things up. Heading out the Homes doors- with Asher and Nolan by my side- and into the busy and hectic streets where I looked around in awe and wonder at the many architectural sights ahead of me. Occasionally I bumped into on-comers going about there day- some in groups, others with mobile phones and a few in business suits. Other than that my brothers and I dove down alleyways and shortcuts, crossed through roads of heavy traffic and passed market stall after market stall, each desperate to arrive first at the crime scene already layed out by Father.

When we got there, it was clear the five masked men in black had already made an appearance to the public eye; shards of glass were scattered ruthlessly along the pavement, people were busy running and screaming for their lives- trying to get away from the danger- and the sound of sirens blaring from down the road could easily be recognised. With the entrance doors already broken, battered and left ajar, the three of us cautiously and silently made our way into the wreckage of what was once a store. Just as we did however, a loud shot echoed throughout the air, causing us all to fall to our knees and cover our ears from the excruciating noise blaring inside our eardrums.
