Chapter 6

I woke up in the infirmary. My head and everything hurt. I stared at my bandaged stomach and beside me was Jason. I stared at him before bursting into tears.
    "What the hell! Why did you hurt me?" I asked. He sighed.
      "I'm sorry I don't know what came over me,"he said hugging me. I winced as his arm brushed my injury. I was finally able to leave but I had a scar. The meteorite was brought in to be studied but we all had to stay away from the lab due to the energy from the meteorite. Cora was so mad at Jason for hurting me but I believe it wasn't his fault but I know that we are both attracted to that meteorite somehow. Later that day, Jason and I decided to go out for an ice cream sandwich. As we walked, I noticed that Jason was acting weird and then I he started to complain of a headache. I didn't know what to do and his body started to grow hot. We were in public. I rushed him out leading him to the alley and then he let his powers take control of him and started firing at me. I was shocked at first before I started to dodge them. He grabbed my neck and started to choke me.
    "Jason stop," I said as I struggled to break free. Why was he acting like this. I closed my eyes trying to tap into my power core and then a surge of energy filled me and blue fire surrounded me. I placed my hand on his as the fire consumed him. He finally calmed down but I fainted. I woke up in my room. Cora hugged me.
   "How am I here?" I asked. She smiled.
     "We found you after Jason called us with blue fire around you and he was just in shock. Sandra took him to the lab to run some tests and the meteorite is connected to you both," Cora said. I got up and left to the lab and there it was, the meteorite in a glass case. I saw Jason and I hugged him. Sandra stared at us before sighing.
   "I have something to tell both of you,l she said. I sat down holding Jason's hand before she spoke up.
...........You both have special abilities that none of us have. Brooklyn, we thought your parents were the first guardian and hero that fell in love but no. Jason, your true parents were just like hers. This meteorite is a piece of the guardians planet that was destroyed billions of years ago. Somehow, your powers Coe from this rock and it magnifies it. Jason you don't have a strong mind yet so you let the evil of the rock control you. Brooklyn, you are special immune to its evil and you harness it to make your powers stronger. You guys will need lots of training...
  I stared at Jason before facing Sandra.
        "I want to see my parents," I said. Somehow, there was more to this story that she knew off and surely my parents would know.
