Chapter 12

  "I warned you not to use your powers," dad said as soon as I opened my eyes.
      "Seriously! I just woke up and that's what you're telling me?" I asked him. Mom pushed him aside and gave me a bowl of cereal which I accepted.
   "And besides I didn't use the blue fire, it was the very dark red one," I said. Dad held his forehead.
      "Your powers are getting stronger Brooklyn and your body isn't strong enough to harness it," dad said. I took a spoonful of cereal chewing slowly while staring at my Dad.
    "Why does the meteorite affect Jason more than me?" I asked dad finally swallowing. He sighed.
      "It's just....it's hard to explain but Jason is more exposed to his powers than you and then your body is not really attracted to the meteorite," he said.
      "I don't understand," I said taking another spoon.
     "Look Brooklyn, Jason has lost his real parents and his mother was bad, like really bad  and she somehow connected herself to that meteorite. She knew Jason's future which was to end up destroying the world but she didn't know that you would be there to counter that. You can change  it and you can harness the power of the meteorite but first learn how to use those powers and learn fast because the day is getting closer," dad said. I nodded and got up from the bed then I realised I was at home. My room hadn't changed a bit.
      "Why am I here?" I asked dad.
   "We have the facilities to train you. Where do you think your mother used to train when she was still protecting the world from the the evil  blue bloods that were left from Marina's attack?" Dad asked.
    "I don't know," I said to him as I followed him to the their room. He opened their closet and put in a Passover and what I saw was a very large training room.
    "How did you fit this into the house?" I asked. Dad chuckled.
    "We're not In the house," he said and when I looked out the window, I realised that we were in space. He led me to a room.
    "This is immune to your fire powers and I want you to melt it," he said.
    "How am I supposed to.....
I was cut off when he pushed me in shutting the door. I tried the regular fire but nothing happened then the blue fire but it just got rid of the fire then I remembered the dark red fire. I closed my eyes and I saw dark red and I opened seeing my hands on fire. I placed my hands on the door and closed my eyes before taking in a deep breath. I saw the dark red in tease then I saw Jason screaming as the fire surrounded him.
    "Brooklyn stop please," he screamed and I opened my eyes. The metal walls were still their with only a dent. Why was I seeing Jason?
   I closed my eyes again letting the fire increase and then I saw Jason. I shoved him out of my brain then I felt my hand starting to ache. I kept on going and I heard dad telling me to stop. I opened my eyes and stared at my hands which were red and then the melted walls. I stepped toward dad and then I tried to harness the blue fire but nothing happened.
     "What's going on?" I asked dad. He stared at me, shock written on his face.
   "Dad! What's wrong with me?" I asked again trying hard to get at least a little spark.
         "Jason did something and now your powers have been blocked," he said. I stared at my red hands, tears brimming. I wiped them away and left. I ran past mom and left the house heading straight to the cabin and I saw Jason.
    "Taking my virginity wasn't enough right?" I shouted at him. He stared at me.
    "Brooklyn I .......
  "Shut up! You... I can't use my powers. What did you do? Look at me," I shouted. Pain shot through my hands as I raised them up. Jason grabbed my hand, gripping it tightly making the pain increase.
     "I'm doing this for your own good Brooklyn," he said.
   "You're not. I know you've been seeing your mom. She's dead, she's not real. She wants you to do something bad and you're letting her manipulate you," I said. His grip loosened and I took that chance to kiss him and I felt a surge of energy within me then it started to become too much. I tried pulling away but he wasn't letting me go, then I punched him and the pain in my hands returned.
       "I love you Jason," I said before leaving. I closed my eyes and then I felt the pain in my arms leave and when I opened them, the fire was a bright blue colour. I smiled before heading home and going straight to my room. I lay on my bed before turning over to face my mirror. I finally got up heading to the bathroom to shower. The water was warm and I scrubbed my body and then I dried my body. After applying my lotion, I put on my pyjamas and put on the air conditioning before heading downstairs. I told dad I got my powers back leaving the part of me kissing Jason out. Mom had made hash browns and lasagna which I ate happily then I watched a movie. I returned to my cold room and put on my stockings and head warmer. I had to stay cold cause dad said I could have dreams that involve me using my powers so I was staying cold to prevent me from using then in real life. I got under the blanket which wasn't doing much. I sent both Cora and Alexandra goodnight texts before placing my phone on the bedside table. I looked at the ceiling before sighing.
     "Goodnight Jason. I love you," I whispered before closing my eyes to sleep.

So guys I this is my longest chapter......including This notification, I have one thousand and thirty six words. Yay!
