It was pitch black, save the strobing white lights illuminating the stage. Mist was rolling across the platform, spilling over the ledge and covering the floor of the first few rows. The middle of the dais split open, a lower level rising up as flames shot out from every side. The squelching of the guitar strings rang through the air, making my heart thump dangerously in my chest. Girls began screaming so loudly my eardrums threatened to burst.
"I'm on the Highway to Hell!" that all too familiar voice called out, making the thousands of people in the arena scream in response. The vibration of all the noise and excitement threatened to crumble this place to the ground. Nancy and I exchanged glances, acknowledging that this was going to be the best night of our lives. Several clicks in succession rang out, and I noticed Jonathan furiously hammering down on the camera's trigger.
"Highwayyyy to he-ellll!!" a male voice to my left bellowed, I turned to smile brightly up at the tall brown haired boy. Steve Harrington beamed back at me, as we both belted out the lyrics to AC/DC's Highway To Hell.
The lanky dirty blonde next to him, the last of our group, cheered loudly, tears brimming her eyes. Robin glanced over at me, gripped my hand tightly before turning back to the stage. We had needed a break from Hawkins, after everything. I turned back, continuing to sing,
"No stop signs, Speed limit, Nobody's gonna slow me down, Like a wheel, Gonna spin it, Nobody's gonna mess me around!"
Sparks burst out over the crowd, the metal instruments squealing their tunes, and the band members danced and slid around the stage. We had driven several hours to Indianapolis, to see AC/DC at Market Square Arena. It was the big send off into our senior year, the supposed best year of our lives. Jonathan's face peeked happily down at me. "Great idea Sadie!" he clapped me on the back. The loose strawberry blonde ringlets hanging from my updo bounced as he did. Nancy side hugged me tightly, her ocean eyes meeting my powder blue ones.
"Best year yet?" I questioned over the loud roar of the crowd as the song concluded. In the brief musical silence while the bandmates prepared for a new song, she nodded. "It will be." She said intensely, gripping my hand so tight I felt the blood rush out of my fingers.
The loud ringing bells sounded, erupting the crowd in newfound excited roaring. I nodded back, smiling and began chanting the lyrics to Hells Bells.

1 month later... First Day of Senior Year"Dad, would you please hurry, we're going to be late!" I hollered up the hall. I adjusted my skirt and stockings, looking at myself in the mirror hanging on the back of the door I shared with my sister.
Elle stumbled out of her room, shoving several books and papers into her backpack. "I look terrible!" She wailed exasperatedly. I set my bag down on the table and made my way towards her."You're beautiful." I beamed down at her, smoothing her curls. She hugged me tightly, a bright smile lacing her lips. "I love you!" She sighed, releasing me and wiping her eyes. Hopper shouted from his room, loud stumbling noises emitting from behind the curtain.
I led Elle outside, where she hopped into the passenger seat of my canary yellow beetle as I threw my bag into the back seat.
Hopper was blabbing on and on about how we needed to wake him up earlier, and then being late wouldn't occur.. I smirked, and resisted the urge to chuckle.
"Dad, I'll just take Elle with me." I said, smiling at her leaning against the inside of my passenger door. I knew he was in no right state to take her to school. He had to be at work in 5 minutes, his boxer shorts were hanging out of his zipper, and the laces to his shoes dangled onto the ground.
