I adjusted the leather pants once more, feeling the remaining air in my body escape me as I tightened the last string. Olivia Newton John wasn't kidding when she said she was sewn into these pants.

I smeared the red lipstick across my lips as a car horn blared outside. "You look hot!" Max said. "Yeah, hot!" Elle shouted after.

I smirked, ruffling my curled hair and spritzing my vanilla perfume. I dabbed some shimmery lotion across my chest, and handed Max a $20 bill. "This is for emergencies only. The movies we rented are on the counter, and pizza is in the freezer." I looked seriously at her and Elle.

"You may call the boys, but you do not leave this house unless it's burning to the ground. Understood?"

They nodded in unison. "Ok great. Hop should be back in 2 hours, but if you need anything before then, call the Byers' house. Joyce knows that Nancy and I are going out, and she can be here in 10 minutes if you need anything." I assured them.

Max smiled, and patted my leather clad butt. "It's hard as a rock. My brother will not be able to leave you alone tonight." she laughed.

I felt that pang in my gut again, and felt the wave of nausea spill over me. "Let's hope that isn't true." I said with a gulp.

"Something happened between you two, and I want to know what." she said with her hands on her hips.

"Did you happy scream for Billy?" Elle asked confused. I let out a little yelp and shook my head ferociously. "NO! No! Oh my god no. Please stop saying that, and especially not around Hopper. Jesus." I said running a hand through my curled hair.

The horn blared again, rushing me. "Nothing happened Max, you have nothing to worry about."

"It's not like I wouldn't want you as a sister, but he's an ass and you're too good for that." she shrugged, but her tone was serious.

"No worries, Max. Elle you know the rules, stick to them." I pointed. She nodded, allowing me to hug her and smooth her hair before I spritzed once more and dashed out the door. Nancy was dolled up like Frenchie, the Pink Lady's jacket matching her cotton candy pink wig.

"Wow, can you breathe?" she laughed. I shook my head, "Not even a little."

"You'll be turning heads tonight." she wiggled her eyebrows at me. I smiled, "You look so good too. I love the wig." It was cute and curly with half of it pinned up. Her little blue neckerchief tied eloquently in place. She looked like the perfect Frenchie.

When we pulled onto the street, the music was already wailing loudly into the night. Luckily it was a rural house, with no neighbors within a mile in each direction. Hence, Hopper's reluctance of letting me go, and his eagerness to have a time I'd be home by.

I knew he would be chomping the bit to break up the party and drag me home, but he knew I deserved some fun, and at the end of the day he trusted my decision making ability.

Nancy shut off the ignition, and we exited. Steve and Jonathan were waiting for us by the mailbox. Steve's eyes bugged out of his head as he saw me. We still hadn't really talked since the first week of school, and we were in October now.

"Where's Robin?" I asked, breaking the silence. Jonathan needed a minute to eye Nancy, so I figured I would help him with that.

"She didn't want to come." Steve shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck. He and Jonathan were dressed as T-Birds. "Come on." Jonathan said to Nancy, leading her away. He was allowing Steve to have a moment alone with me.

They must have pre arranged this to happen. Steve cleared his throat awkwardly, "Look, I'm sorry alright. I was an ass, worse than an ass...but I'm just sorry ok?"
